Fall 2008 Walnut Hills Va Rally Site Location Poll

To all of those who are interested in this rally (Walnut Hills Campground - Staunton, Va.), rather than PMing everyone, I am posting the site dimensions and a campground map so that all can see what alternatives we have. We would like responses on whether to reserve the sites at the top of the hill or the lake side sites which we feel are definitely on the small side and may not suit all of us.

Site Map:

The lake sites are all 30 amp service.
Lakefront Back ins.....................Lake sites across from
.............................................back ins w/ sewer
.............................................(thes e are also back ins)

Water electric cable no sewer......Site 89=40ft
Site 24=45ft.............................Site 90=42ft
Site 25=39ft.............................Site 91=37ft
Site 34=50ft.............................Site 92=28ft
With Sewer..............................Site 93=22ft
Site 26=37ft.............................Site 94=23ft
Site 27=36ft.............................Site 95=28ft
Site 28=35ft.............................Site 96=30ft
Sites 29-31=33ft.......................Site 97=40ft
Site 32=37ft.............................Site 98=28ft

Sites on the hill:

50 amp*
Sites 65-66 are 38ft-37ft=75 total ft
Sites 67-68 are 42ft-41ft=83
Sites 69-70* are 50ft-50ft=100
Sites 71-72* are 50ft-50ft=100
Sites 73-74* are 43ft-50ft=93
Sites 75-76* are 48ft-48ft=96
Sites 77-78 are 48ft-48ft=96
Sites 79-80* same as above
Sites 81-82* are 45ft-45ft=90
Site 83 is a back in a little bit away from the others not far it’s 60ft in length.

Please reply with your preferences and we will tally all and reserve the appropriate area. The other advantage to the hilltop sites are they are located on the same level as the meeting room. As a reminder, the rally will be scheduled for the Thursday through Sunday the week after Labor Day. Those who have expressed interest so far are:

1. Salle and Samuel (Wagon Masters)- Penhook, VA - vabluebird
2. Ken and Velda Taylor - King George, VA
3. Bingo and Cathy Fincham - Charleston, WV - (bncinwv)
4. Chuck and Carol Reilly - Chittenango, NY
5. Cyrus Hutchings - King George, VA
6. Bill and Lisa Rearick - Virginia Beach, VA
7. Glenn and Lorraine Adams - Seminole, Fl
8. Lou and Judy Almodova - Manassas, VA - (5rvers)
9. Garnett and Dolores Lee - Gainesville, VA (Gunner)
10. Nichole Price and family - Dauphin, PA (CamprNick)
11. Tom Busche - Frederick, MD (buschet1)

If others are interested, let us or Vabluebird know.

Bingo,
I think we need to take the hill. I'd rather be camped on it and not have to climb it. Would you consider co-wagonmastering with me. I need your help. Thanks for what you have done already. I believe I need to be there on Wed. to get us set up and be there when the others start to come in.

Salle,
Ask and ye shall receive. We would be honored to assist you. However, keep in mind that we will not arrive until Thursday evening due to DD's still being in school. I'll give them one day off to attend (for educational purposes!!) but I don't think I can stretch it to two. Are you planning on going to Gettysburg in the Spring??? If so, we can get together then and finalize what loose ends we have then. All we need now is a lot more interest, Hint, Hint, Hint MOCers!!! (I think you are correct about the hill), would you let Missy know??

Bingo,
What I need is help with the planning. Samuel is a bystander. He supports me in this but is not one to help in the planning. Yes, we will be in Gettysburg in the Spring. I think that is when we will pick up the rest of the MOCers. I'll contact Missy. You won't need to be there before Thursday. I just feel I need to be. That way I will be set up and can help with the Thursday night activities and greet the other guest. Last Spring we had truck trouble and never got to PA until 7PM. I hated that but there was nothing we could do. It was a wonder we got there at all.
