Dish DVR
Wondering if anybody has had trouble with a Dish DVR system in the Monty (hard drive failure from bouncing around)?.
Our 3400 puts the Dish receiver in the back behind the axles.

We haven't had a problem with ours. To tell the truth, we hadn't given it much thought since hard drives have become much more resistant to vibration and we keep it tied down to the cabinet so that it doesn't bounce around all on its own.

Thanks Bob,
Guess I'll try it. To truly take advantage of the new HDTV and sound system, I need a Dish HD reciever. I wan't the dual tuner to make a cleaner install, but they only have a dual tuner DVR available. They are pricey, so I'll just use the one from the stick house when we go on a journey. Just didn't want to destroy our main receiver by using it for camping.

If you haven't called yet, try All American Dish 877-444-4388. They are part of NPS - National Programming Service. I use them for my Cband 4DTV programming. Very good to work with.
All American Dish quoted me $53.97 per month for the their "...Top 200" package(220 Channels). That is $42.99 for "...Top 200" ; $5.00 Local channels and $5.98 for Hi Def. That is suppose to come with the vip622 DVR/Receiver w/2nd remote for 2nd room TV @ SD. They use Dish 1000 for antenna. An extra for the Monte would cost $99.
You can get DNS - Distant Network Stations from Atlanta & San Francisco for $9 per month from All American Direct, another partner but you have to qualify. Can't receive networks stations where you live OR you have an RV.

Thanks Don -
Unfortunately we have been Dish customers for over 10 years, so I don't get any of the "new customer" bargains. We just upgraded to the Dish 1000 and new HD receivers for the house. They did do a pretty good upgrade special so it only cost me $49 after $200 in rebates.
