I haven't used it much but so far, so good. Guess that doesn't help much. I've become a fan of Firefox.

I installed it a few weeks ago on the store computers, but had to un-install, as it wasn't compatible with the Quickbooks program. I have since updated Quickbooks, but haven't re-installed IE7. I may do that this weekend and see what happens.

Lonnie, I am so surprised you guys use a computer in your store. I didn't think technology had reached NM yet. Last I heard you guys used a dull lead pencil and yellow tablets.
By the way, I went to High School 9-12th just north of you a ways at Boise City. Matter of fact I learned to fly there and buzzed the airport a Clovis a couple of times.

Good one Indy. Actually we DO use the dull lead pencils, and yellow legal tablets for our NORTHEASTERN customers. We wouldn't want to give the impression we are technologicaly advanced to the point of actual computer useage. Have to keep up the wild west illusion you know,

Boise City, OK., I am so sorry .

Downloaded IE 7 and within a couple of hours uninstalled it. I prefer my good old IE 6 but than again I said the same thing about IE 6. Had to move up to IE 6 when we got the new 'puter. Guess I'll get IE 7 when I get another 'puter.

I run IE7 and have had no problems. I like it ability to open multiple tabs. You can have Many windows open under one IE window and just click the tabs to go between. The Favorite list allows you to open your choice in the existing tab or by clicking on the right-hand arrow you open a new tab.
Cheers,

I've been on 7 for several weeks and so far everything is fine. I haven't opened every program I use yet so time will tell. Now that I hear some are having problems, I think I had better go open some of the non Microsoft programs and see if they work.
Happy trails....................

Kinda funny how IE7 has included the functions that made Firefox surge in popularity! That multiple tab thing is but one of the pioneering features Firefox introduced.

As noneck said about firefox and IE 7, this is just another example of microsoft doing what it ususally does-a great job of coping what others have come up with new. I agree with LonnieB about program incompatiability. I don't like updates because those 15 minute jobs quickly becomes a half day to mutliple day jobs because this doesn't work without updating that and that will not work without updating...

I dowloaded IE7 for both my desktop and wife's laptop as soon as it was available. Have had absolutely no problem with it on either computer. It sure has a lot of resemblance to Firefox, hmmmmmmm....

I downloaded IE7 on my laptop and had no problems. BUT when I downloaded it on the house computer some things just wouldn't work. I talked to nephew who works, builds and does everything that you can do with them; and he said they are having problems with IE7 and you open yourself up to a lot of ads. Also, if your computer is older you may have a lot of problems (like the one in the house) so I went back to IE6 on both computers. Other than that I did like the tabs and some of the other features.

I haven't received ANY ads on either computer. The laptop (using XP Home Edition) is two years old and the desktop )using XP Professional) is one year old. I wonder if the operating system has anything to do with how IE7 works???

I downloaded IE7 yesterday - took forever, but I think I am going to like it - with IE6 however, I could have my favorite list on the left side of the screen - can't figure how to get the list up with IE7 - have to go back to my homepage and get the pulldown list - what am I doing wrong? Any thoughts?

Just click on Favorites. This drops down all your favorites that used to be displayed on the left side of IE6. Note that with IE6 if you wanted a full screen you had to "X" our the favorites. With IE7 they only appear when you want them to. Much like Firefox.

refocused, click on the little yellow star in the upper left corner under the word Google. The favorites list will drop down.

We just bought a new laptop and have installed IE7 on it and also on the desktop. So far so good - now if I could just figure out how to move things in signature line. LOL

Lorraine,
You can do it. By default everything goes to the left. Center your state map by putting {center} at the front and {/center} at the end of the string. Replace the { in my example with [. Try it.

I installed it and lost connection capability to FTP sites for my work and various clients. Within a day we were directed by our IT department to uninstall it, and to wait until the bugs were worked out by them or by Microsoft.

Not sure how many people that impacts, but if you routinely access a lot of encrypted ftp sites or servers it's a real problem.
