Heavier wiring on the kitchen circuit

In each of our Montanas we were unable to use a toaster at the same time as the coffeepot when both are plugged into outlets on the kitchen electrical circuit.

This circuit seems to have the kitchen outlets, the refrigerator, at least one outlet in the dining area and, I think, the outside patio oultet. Yet this cuircuit is on a 15 amp breaker. The kitchen area is where we're most likely to simulataneously use high amperage appliances. I'd like to see this be a heavier circuit.

I 2nd that!! Each and every time I blow the breaker it is always on the kitchen circuit. Amazing at how many outlets are on this circuit.

I agree, and was going to make the same suggestion. We tried to run a coffee pot and small heater...off went the ciruit breaker. It needs to be 20 amps.

Is the wire on that outlet to the toaster, 12 gauge or 14 gauge? How many outlets are on that circuit?

Hi Steve,
I believe all the outlets in any RV I have owned/seen use those easy splice press-on connections and are only able to accept 14 gauge. This makes the circuit limited to 15 amps whether its one or more outlets. At best Montana's could be configured with two separate circuit feeds if your kitchen has more than one outlet. My Monty only has one outlet...not good for running coffee pot and toaster. Have to temporarily shut-off coffee pot to use toaster and if we forget to turn it on we have "ice coffee" which a fad now....(not a fad of ours tho).

Chuck, I think you're right about the wire sizing. Larry, hopefully that answers your question. Ozz also told me it's 14 gauge. The hard part, I guess, would be deciding which outlets should be on which circuit, should that single circuit be split. I could designate how I would like it but how would Keystone figure out what would please everyone? We don't have the second AC but do have the prep. Thus we have a breaker for the second AC. But I have no idea how I would run wiring from the breaker panel to the kitchen area. That a bit beyond my ability. Shoot, that's way beyond my ability. So we'll just remember to turn things on and off as needed.
