Waterless Wash and Wax

I have been meaning to post this for some time. At the Mid-Atlantic Rally in August 2011, Frank Defeo and Mike Steel demo'ed the stuff. I got some of this stuff, but never had the time to actually use it, and it sat in a box for 6 months. I have been working on the Montana when we are camped, a bit at a time. Since it doesn't use any water, it is great for campsite use.

It is a waterless wash and wax, the link below has videos. You can buy 32oz bottles, but the best price is the Aquanil-X Concentrate 1 Gallon (will make 10 gallons). I call Mike Steele 704-798-0691 (local distributor), and he delivered it to my door for $160. (retail price on gallon concentrate is $212), which works out to $4.00 a 32oz bottle. It takes about one 32oz bottle to do the Montana. The truck can be done 2-3 times with a 32oz bottle.

Works great on counter tops, glass, mirrors, wood cabinet, eye glasses, plastic, Montana outside, etc.

Here is a picture on my 11 year old truck, which has only been wax 3 times in 10+ years. I started using the Aquanil-X in March 2012, and I have clean the truck 5 or 6 times since with the Aquanil-X.

Really easy to do, just spray on, wipe to cover the area, which cleans the dirt off, then easy buff with another micro fiber cloth (no rubbing).

The black is plastic. Compare the truck in the tag line with above.

Interesting. Most of these products I have seen, require washing of the vehicle first, or serious risk of scratching occurs.

My Montana sites on Dirty/Gravel storage lot about 20 minutes from the house. I have not seen any scratching what so ever. The first time I cleaned the Montana, I use Croftgate's Wash and Wax, which uses one gallon of water. Use one microfiber to wash with, and another to buff. Very easy to do at campsite also, no hose or other water required, just small bucket of water.

See URL below for Wash and Wax, but the Aquanil-X does a better job on the wax side, has the depth of shine that the Wash and Wax doesn't have.

Aquanil-X doesn't do much on the black streaks. Croftgate has product Multi Clean (also waterless), which does pretty good job on black streaks, but really bad streaks I use "Camco Black Streak Remover" that I got at Camping World. It requires rinsing (bucket of water and micro fiber seems to work here, but you have to empty the bucket often).

http://croftgateusa.com/buy-croftgat...rpose-cleaners

Last camping trip, the camp host was waxing the motor home of the other camp host. I demo'ed the Aquanil-X for him and he said it was a lot easier. He use to have a outside cleaning business, and has used Knock-Out for years. He said it works great on rubber roofs and outside of the coach. He says it keeps the rubber roof from drying out.

We traded 32oz of Aquanil-X for 1 gallon of Knock-Out. I haven't had chance to try the Knock-Out yet, requires water to rinse, but here is the URL below. Stuff is really cheap, but shipping will cost twice as much as the product. He uses 10 to 1 ratio for normal cleaning and put on strait for black streaks.

DW here. Nothing is safe anymore when he has 'the pink stuff' out. He's even used it to clean my cell phone, and the other day I looked out the window and he was polishing the mailbox! He said he had a little left on his cloth. :-) Seriously, it really does work good. Our 4 year old grandson thought his grandpa got a new truck because it looked so much better. He's also done my new car several times, and believe me, I'm not complaining!!! :-)

I use it on my granite countertops. Then use the Quick-n-Slick to make it really shine and really slick. Great products. If I hadn't bought a golf bag caddy from Michael Steele off of Craigslist, and him showing me a demo of the product, I wouldn't have invited him to the rally. Just how some opportunities happen.

I think it works really well...have used it on my truck, suv and Montana...and it allows the black streaks to just wash away without soap if you clean them off before you do the first coat and then the quick and slick...I dont even use soap anymore to wash the monty...just water hose and a brush....I work for a police department and we are using it on the whole fleet..15 cruisers...it is worth the money, easy to apply and does all it says it will do...

Love it , John. Use it on TV and Yukon, excellent stuff. Got mine at MA same as you. A man saw me using it at MB and ordered some. Maybe we should invite them to MA. Larry

Went over to storage today to open slides and run the AC for a little bit. Was going to clean the bugs the cap from the last trip, but the heavy rains here last week wash them all off. Just had some bugs and road tar under the bed where where rain didn't touch. Took 5-10 minutes with the Aquanil-X and I was done. Not bad for sitting on a dusty gravel/dirt lot.
