We were going to stay there last year. Our first choice Bentsen Palm Village was full and we were on a waiting list. As a retired carpenter, I was interested in Canyon Lakes builder program. We did not stay there as a site at BPV became available. Since we were in Mission, we visited Canyon Lake. The sites were tight and many were on a mix of gravel, dirt and grass. The "lake" was an algae filled pool of water. The place has pretty good reviews but we were happy we changed our plans. Other MOC'ers stay in the area at Bentsen Grove and Green Gate Grove.
