Broken Window

One of the frameless, tip-out windows on the side of my unit shattered. If I can ever get a part number from Keystone, I can order the window, but it appears Lippert only sells the whole thing; frame and both windows. If necessary, I’ll buy the whole thing and just take the glass I need; it is only held in by one screw.

Has anyone been successful in getting a glass shop to replace one of these windows? They would have to duplicate tinting to match existing windows. I have the two metal pieces that would need to be glued to the new glass.

Scott,

When we were at Quartzite a couple of years back. One of the folks in the circle had a broken window they were able to get fixed in a local glass shop. Good luck. They had to pull the frame and take it in.

Thanks. Found it at Trekwood. I'm still going to check with a glass shop before I spend $400.

Four hundred dollars they are real proud of that. Ask then if they have a cheap pistol to rob you with.

It was 7.3Ford that had the broken window. You may be able to PM him for help.

Not that it's your issue, but there is a major recall on these frameless windows across numerous RV MFRers. Seems someone screwed up and the glue to attach the glass to the top metal frame/hinge was wrong allowing windows to fall out upon opening.

Scott- check my post on your other post "Keystone Customer Service, what a ....." Found it here at a glass shop and had it in two weeks after they measured the window and opening and it was under your $400 installed.

I had the back ODS window shatter while heading to the coast for halibut fishing trip. Never did find out why it shattered. I am pretty sure that I had to replace the whole window even though it was just the small part that was shattered. I had the local glass shop do the work. I had to look at the glass and if you look real close you will find a part number on it, obviously I had to look at the window on the door side to get that number. It is tempered glass and I still have the pictures with the number but can’t remember who I bought it from.
I even found my post from May of 2017 about the shatter window but nothing on who I purchased the replacement from.
Good luck.

It took awhile, but my local glass shop replaced it. They ordered the glass, measured & cut, sent it out to be tempered and installed it (without removing the frame) for $230. The only issue is the glass is a little wavy; maybe because of the tempering process. You can't see it from inside and have to look close to see it outside. They attached the hardware with the same adhesive used for windshields; seems solid.

The RV shops were all over on the price for the part; low of $150, high of $380. All of them wanted about $300 for shipping. Add a couple hundred for installation and it would have been a $650+ bill.
