2021 Rally Craft Ideas (edited to correct year)

Hi Ladies!

I am Cindy working with Marilyn to create another great rally including crafts!
I think we might even be getting a new room to work in as well which s great news.

We are looking for craft ideas you might be willing to teach or know of local class instructors that could bring a class to the site. Don't want to teach, we would love to hear your ideas, too.

If you are not crafty but would like to help, we are also looking for an assistant craft coordinator, too.

Thanks for your ideas and looking forward to hearing from you!

Smile Arts and Crafts at MOC Rally, September 2020

Hello Cindy, I saw your post regarding the arts and crafts ideas for the rally. This will be our first year attending the rally and we’re quite excited about that. I am also a crafter who knits, felts, weaves, spins, and sews. I very interested in what’s being planned and possibly I can be of help in a class or two.

Hey Cindy,
My home phone is 828-321-3165
My cell is 828-557-7015.
If you call in the evening, please use the home number. We don’t get cell signal at our house in the mountains 😁

Hi There!

Wow, I would love a new class, and if you are willing to teach - woohoo! Can you PM me with any ideas that you would like to teach for a group class that would last less than 2 hours? I would need a description and class supplies list. Thanks a million!

You can pm me if you like , I have an idea for a quick class, involving a sewing machine. I talked with Marilyn and you can get details from her if you like first

A tip from a seasoned rally goer, you might consider moving this thread to the rally site on the forum. I ran across it here on accident!

Good catch! I moved it to the 2021 National Fall Rally sub-forum.

We had a great time at the painting party, wine tasting in 2019, painted water falls. My husband was the only guy brave enough to join all the women. I also liked what the folks made at the recent rally in Nebraska with the solar lights and flower pot. The solar lights with the jars was ok in 2019, but the high heat and humidity in Goshen made them not so great, beads didn't want to stick. Making of the beaded lanyards is popular. Several women enjoyed the wreath making in 2018. Class should be something fairly easy to do in a timely fashion and maybe something we can use or go with our 5th wheels. Can sometime of a quilting type class be done where a table top/tablecloth can be made or the cloth type bowls that cradle food bowls, pot holders or even trash bags for in the trucks so trash has a place? Several of us that I know have sewing machines. I can sew a straight line!

Just "food for thought"

Hi!
This is not actually a craft...but I can teach how to make home made sauerkraut which is a great probiotic n good for bones among other things! All you need is a head of cabbage, a big plastic or glass bowl… A quart canning jar… And a teaspoon of salt. Takes about an hour give or take a half hour! Everybody would go home with a jar of sauerkraut that will ferment in their RV for about a week or more depending how sour you like it !
I don’t know if anybody’s interested in this but if so I’d be glad to share this very easy technique which is very healthy for you !

Regards,
Joanne

Quilt class

Laura asked: "Can some type of a quilting type class be done where a table top/tablecloth can be made or the cloth type bowls that cradle food bowls, pot holders". I could do any of them if needed. I could teach a QUILT AS YOU GO tablerunner, the hotpad bowls for microwaves, hanging towels, potholders/hot pad, etc. I teach many different sewing classes to residents in the park where we winter in Texas. Just let me know what you might like. Sandy Shetler

Craft Idea

Great ideas! We are in the final stages of organizing the classes we have and will definitely add your ideas with your gracious offerings in teaching to the wagon master team to evaluate the schedule! Thank you so much for offering such fun project ideas!
