Bedroom slide / A.C. outlet dead. Serious electrical issue!

Briefly, I was an aviation electric 40 yrs ago. No knowledge on RV except to check fuses and g.f.i. outlets.
Troubleshooting outlet required removing underbed storage and lifting false floor. SHOCKING discovery! Poor quality workmanship - flexible (extension cord) wiring was too short & shredded! One plug (ac) was forced under slide when retracted twisting & destroying it. Luckily we were not killed by an electrical short. The 12v wire was damaged as well as it too was run over each time slides move in to travel. Simple fixes required new wires, longer length and multiple in/out cycles to place wires & plugs to avoid crushing under slides. Now the difficult part - to figure out how to share images.

Admins....is there anyway you can move this thread to General Discussion section? I think it would help more folks in that area, and get better responses, fixes for similar issues.

Wow, what a find. Glad nothing serious happened. What year and model is that rig of yours?

Not the first posting on this issue. Sloppy workmanship.
