Calibrate LCI jacks

Hello
I have a 2018 Montana 3560RL. I took my 5th wheel in for service a couple of weeks ago. Just picked it up & my batteries were dead. My auto level will now not level the 5th wheel.(Batteries fully charged now) Does anyone know how to calibrate a LCI 6 jack leveling system? It was working when I took it in. I called them to let them know....They told me that they would have to charge me to recalibrate the system when they messed it up. I think I am better off doing it myself.

Even if the batteries were dead or completely removed and then put back in, your level calibration should not have changed. Is your system just not working or is it not completing the leveling procedure? This is the Levelup owners manual, and it has everything you will need to know about your system:

There is a parasitic load on the batteries, even with the disconnect switch set off, that depleted the battery in a week or so. The only answer is to disconnect the negative battery cable or have it plugged in. Your dealer should have been able to handle one or the other.

As for your Level Up, does it work at all? Or does it not bring the RV to level?

Resetting to a new level setting is easy. Manually level the RV. Turn off the Level Up system. Press the front arrow exactly 10 times. Press the back arrow exactly 10 times. The system should come alive and ask you to verify a new home setting. Follow the instructions.

Here is a Lippert Technical Bulletin on the process:

If it’s the same thing that happened to me, I received an error message for my left middle jack. The instructions I got for resetting the system was to lower each jack about 6” then hold the retract button until the jacks start going back up and hold it until they are all up and that should reset it. It worked for me. I hope this helps.

Calibrate LCI

It's just not leveling. The system works. I just need to reset it to level. It sounds like I press the front arrow 10 times & the rear arrow 10 times when it is turned off to get it back to my new level position after I manually level it?
Is this correct? Someone told me 5 times.....

The OP has a Montana 3560RL which has the Level Up 6 Point Hydraulic jacks. Your procedure is for the Ground Control Electric Jack system AFAIK.

What is the voltage of your fully charged batteries?
What do they drop down to when under load?
Have you checked your battery water levels?
What do you mean by will not level? Does it try and stops?
Do you have an 80 amp breaker or the factory breaker?

Level Up

I have the same system. 2017 3661RL 6Pt Hydro. The same thing has happened to me before a number of times, and here is how I correct it. I agree entirely with Carl n Susan that the parasitic load is most likely the cause.

1. Place the rig on as level of a surface as possible.

2. Un-hitch (Pull tow vehicle away)

3. Place a four-foot level (The longer the level the more accurate you'll be) just inside the main door and pick somewhat of a center point in that area and check for level front to back and side to side. Make note of any adjustment needed.

4. Go to LU control panel and place the system into zero point calibration. 10 pushes of FRONT button. 10 Pushes of BACK button. The system will beep and the keypad will flash all lights. A message will appear stating "Press ENTER to set, POWER to exit.

5. At this point, if you got lucky and your manual check with your level showed that the unit was in fact level. All you have to do is hit ENTER. If the unit was not level during your manual check. Use the keypad to make the neccessary adjustments to bring the rig into level. Checking your manual level point as you go.

6. Once your satisfied with your manual check of level. Hit ENTER. The LU system will set its memory for the new zero point and power off.

7. Power on the system and retract the rear and mid jacks.

8. Hit the AUTO LEVEL button to test. The system should now successfully return to level automatically.

Hope this helps...I am going through some issues with my LU currently. EXTERNAL SENSOR (Rear level sensor) error. Been troubleshooting for the last few days and LCI is telling me that the entire main controller is bad. One of the things that I learned during this process is that if your LU throws an error at pwr on that will not clear and seemingly leaves you stranded with jacks down. Do the following. Locate, either the main 10 amp fuse for the LU system or the main power harness connector on the controller. (As you look at the controller it will be the right front connector) Remove pwr for a few seconds and reconnect. The unit will clear itself and not power back on allowing you to enter the zero point calibration. Go into calibration mode and use it to manually retract. It seems these units have a few scenarios that they can fail into.

1. Full failure that requires true manual intervention to retract. The "DRILL" method. No electronic assistance.

2. Partial Error that can be cleared and the system still manually operated with electronic assistance.

3. Partial Error that can NOT be cleared. Must pwr cycle and enter calibration mode to operate jacks with electronic assistance.

Again...Hope this helps.
