Sliding door detached from ceiling

The sliding door between the bedroom and bath has detached from the ceiling.

The whole rail and molding around it just detached, and the door sat down on the floor.

This a 2004 fifth wheel.

Has anyone else had this happen?

Any suggestions on a fix?
I’m hoping it’s as easy as reattaching it with bigger screws.

Not an uncommon problem in that 200n years with the siding pocket door. Adding screws and using larger screws are the usual solution. Hopefully the rail came loose out where you can get to it easily. Some have had the screws deep in the wall come loose. That is a bigger challenge. I remember one member who jerry rigged an extra long screw driver bit for his drill so he could reach further back on the opening. Otherwise, you have to find a place where you can cut into a wall panel for access.

I will try to Search for the post with the screw driver extension.

I found these be using the brown Search box near the top of the screen. The terms I used were "pocket door". This Search uses Google and seems to be better than the forum's Search function from the brown ribbon bar.

I did a search or two, but no luck.

It’s not a pocket door, it’s mounted to the ceiling and hangs next to the wall. I’ve done a little looking and poking. Looks like some fatter screws and maybe an ild trick if filling the hole with match stems and glue.

Oops, my bad. I assumed you ment the slider between the bath and the kitchen. I forgot that some early models also had a secondary privacy screen (or door?) between the bath and the bedroom. Your's is a much easier fix.

Yeah.

A sliding two piece privacy screen between sleeping area and shower/sink area.

Got ‘er fixed.

Wasn’t as hard as I expected. Was afraid I would have trouble finding something solid to screw to above the ceiling.

I just drilled new holes through the metal channel, and zipped new screws in.

Ran a fat bead of liquid nails between it and ceiling as well.

Still need to put a couple of nails in the tiny piece of cove molding .
