Few comments bout the artic insulation pack

Well, we have not had the 5er in snow yet, and granted, we are still weekenders (even tho we consider ourselves "extended" weekenders), but here are a few observations about the artic insulation package.

Seems to work VERY well in the summer. We did use the rig in some 95 to 100 degree days when we were in Virginia in late June, early July. The air conditioner did not seem to be having any trouble keeping the rig comfortable.

NOW, did use it in mid October here in Michigan. First night out was pretty cold, temps were down around 25 degrees F. The campground was wet, muddy, and we were not sitting on a paved site. We ran the furnace some, also ran 2 1500 watt ceramic heaters. We were not as comfortable as we thought we were going to be.

I don't mind sleeping in cool air, turn the temp down in the stick built house all the time.

Could not seem to get the floors of the 5er warm. Pretty miserable walking around in just socks. The wood floor in the kitchen area was downright COLD and to stand in there in stocking feet was painful.

Next day we made a trip to Meijers (sorta like a Super Wall Mart) and took in some new supplies.

A pair of slippers for both of us, to be left in the unit, , both found some on sale, mine were only $2.50.

Three rugs, laid out runner style in the kitchen, effectively covering the entire area. One small rug for in front of the bath sink.

We were a bit disappointed in the cold floor, and honestly did not expect it to be so cold.

Remember,this is our experience, maybe not yours.

Bottom line,for us, summer weather: the extra insulation in the walls and roof do a very good job.

Winter: the floors are cold. The extra insulation is not all that effective.
