Goshen - Factory Tour

Nan and I are in Goshen today, waiting for the warranty repairs to the electrical cables under the slide (previous post in the Tech Problems area) and the shower door (common complaint), plus a few other minor items).

Visited the Customer Service folks yesterday. These are the individuals you get to talk to when you have a problem "on the road" Met Ron and Bonney while we were there. They were of great assistance during a couple of problems we had while traveling around. Also met Dick, Service Coordinator. All seemed to be the right sort of folks to have in those of positions. They all gave us good service during our previous times of need, and got us in contact with their contractors for "on the road "warranty work..

Did the factory tour yesterday. Sales Manager and Tour Director supreme, Kevin, was very familiar with the Forum. His Group and other management level folks review it frequently for ideas and problems..keep up the info flow, folks...it doesn't always fall on deaf ears.

Saw the new 3685FL. First, the '04 brochure said the 3655 "is no longer available" Guess that is the same as "discontinued".

The 3685 is a nice rig..One big improvement over the 3655 is the ability to extend and retract the awning without worrying about slide extension. There are three slides on the "drivers" side, and only the second living room slide on the "passenger" side. The bedroom is reversed, and there is some "new and improved" cabinetry in it.

The awning fills in the space between the passenger side living room slide and the aft boarding door (also new). That second entry door opens into the bedroom. Not what I want. From our view, a negative. We would rather have had more storage/wall space where the door went.

If you are tempted to bring your rig "home" for repairs, Keystone uses a local repair shop, D & T (Dave and Tom) for their warranty work. Fine folks, very competent. Another Forum mmeber was there on a "drop in" for some significant slide repair work when we arrived for our scheduled appointment.

The office lady, Bobby, was of great assistance in local area stuff. We chose to do a night in a motel rather than have them clean up after some work and have to restart it the next day, although the offer was made to let us hook up on their property for our "overnight". 20 amp only, but water and sewer are also available, and it would have been fine, especially considering "free". Also that schedule would have us up and out by 0800 today so they could resume work..not our normal schedule!!

Off to tour the local area, and should have the rig ready for travel resumption this afternoon. Goshen is A-OK so far..
