finally own a Montana
Hi, We are Dave & Nancy, along with Molly our black lab. Although our story isn't anywhere as hilarious as Jonh & Cathy's, if you haven't read their post, you should.
We have shopped (looked) for several years, through it all we always came back to the Montana . Finally...on Nov. 10th we made our decision, on the 14th we picked up our new 3400RL . We absolutely love it! We are long time RV'ers, although as each year passes we find ourselves spending more time away from home. Yes, we still have a "bricks & sticks" (kinda waiting for the market to change), but we are spending about 9 months of the year in our RV.
We have a few warranty issues, but hopefully they will be taken care of w/o a problem. We have already made arrangements with the dealer for the second half of Dec.
Dave is retired from General Motors (Lansing, MI), Nancy is retired from Home Interior & Gifts. We workkamp for 1 or 2 seasons of the year (just started that...so we can pay for the new RV ).
We enjoy sightseeing, hiking, bird watching, socailizing. Nancy enjoys beading, embroidery, reading, puzzles (all kinds), basically anything crafty. Dave is a "jack of all trades", but mostly enjoys people. We believe "happy hour" starts whenever 2 or more people decide it is time. Our dog (don't tell her I called her that , Molly, is like a family member. Actually our kids tell us we treat her better than we did them, but...we tell them...she minds better than they did & we don't have to pay more for car insurance .
We would love to hear from others with the same interests, or other interests, maybe we will like those things too. Who knows until you try.
Looking forward to many years as a proud Montana owner.
Nancy & Dave, yes, it is usually Nancy, (99.999% of the time), that respondes to anything)
oh yeah, don't forget about Molly (she loves you & thinks you came to visit her )

Nancy and Dave, good to see some Michiganders on the MOC. We spend our winters down here now - as of last year. Winter storm warnings up of our home town of Bellaire. While we are relieved we are out of that stuff (71 and 93% humidty at 10 pm here right now), we still have 3 of our kids, 5 of our grandkids, two sisters and their husbands, and my 80 year old father still right there at ground zero for that NW MI snowbelt that is getting clobbered right now.
Cheryl's brother lives in Sparta and just recently retired from GM also.
Welcome. This forum is a wealth of information.

nandav, welcome to the forum. We all have the same interest as you do, Montana 5th wheel, isn't that a coincidence? Also a lot of us have the same opinion of our 4 legged family member. My children certainly did give me more problems than our Lexi (pet) has. We hope you enjoy your Montana as much as we are enjoying ours. Hope to meet you at a rally someday.

Welcome Molly, Nancy & Dave to the ever growing MOC Family.
You're pick of the Montana 3400 is a great choice. The 3400 is the most popular rig in the line up and you will find many, many of our family towing the same model.
I can see you are already enjoying that Long timer lifestyle and once you sell that "bricks & sticks" you are going to enjoy the Full timin' lifestyle even more so.
See ya down the road.

Welcome to the forum, Nancy and Dave and Molly. This is a nice place to "hang around". We, too, are Michiganders with a longtimer lifestyle. We know that choosing a Montana will be a great decision for you. This is our second Montana and we love it. We are hanging around here until after the holidays with our 9 grandchildren and then heading to Florida.

Welcome to the MOC forum! It sounds like you guys will have no problems when it comes to the fiver--except for the usual warranty work. This is a great place to be for getting advise and giving it also. Jump on in when you can or are willing too! Sounds like our "Bear" will have some company if we ever get together at a CG. Bear a cross between a beagle and a dachshund but doesn't know it or think it! He's just another one of us but with four legs!! Take care and hope to meet you somewhere along the many trails across this great nation!

Nancy and Dave, Congrats on the great choice in temporary mobile lodging facility, you will enjoy the day you can drop the "temporary" and call it permanent. Although we went from stick home owners to Montana owners ovenight we can imagine the coordination it takes to be a "long timer".
Also, Welcome to "the best derned forum on the www". I have gained a wealth of knowledge about travel trailers, tow vehicles, campgrounds, internet usage, plumbing, wiring, well, you get the picture.........
Enjoy the sage advice and don't be afraid to chime in when you feel the urge. Not too many subjects off limits....

Welcome!
The Montana Owners Club (MOC) will be your premier source for information about your Keystone RV product and to make RV’ing an enjoyable experience.
There is so much information at first that you won’t know where to start, but just read what is interesting; don’t be shy, and post your questions to the field of experienced users. No questions are too small or too big, there is always someone who knows something about your inquiry.
Oh, did I tell you about the bonus? The bonus is the great group of people who share a common interest with you!
See if you can schedule a rally in your future so you can meet some of these wonderful members and learn new ideas first-hand!
There are only 50 days until the Quartzsite rally.
There are only 126 days until the North American Rally in Tucson.
There are only 175 days until the Lake Siskiyou, CA Rally.

Thank You everyone for your great welcome! It feels like we have a new family!
We are currently workamping in Lenoir City, TN, putting up exterior Christmas lights on businesses & homes. We are going back to Michigan for Christmas, then coming back here to take down those decorations. We will be heading to Edinburg, TX in late Jan. to spend the rest of the winter in sunshine.
About the pictures; I need to figure out how to submit them. Writing on a forum is very new, so need to figure everything out.
