Winterizing Port Hose

My old RV had a quick turn by-pass near the pump for insertion of anti-freeze. The intake hose was pretty small with a female end.

The new 3400 has the winterize port with a standard water intake. Do I just get a small regular hose and cut off a two foot section? or is there a special hose (narrower inlet like the old one)?

Thanks for any assistance.

I just cut off a two foot section of old garden hose. Works fine.

I did as you described - cut an old hose and use that to winterize. I'm not aware of any special hose.

I got some smaller plastic tubing about 1/2 inch put a hose end on it came out about 6 or 8 inches and a 90 degree elbow then a section to almost the floor of the convenience center. This keeps the suction hose straight so it gets most the liquid and easy to slide into the jug.

There are kits available at most RV centers.

I bought a 10' white hose at Walmart. Cut it in two. Use one half for winterizing. The other half I can use for the fresh water fill tube should I want to use it instead of the "power fill" feature.

I saved a couple of removed wash machine fill hoses. cut off one end and they are a perfect size for filling tank or use as a suction hose etc: and free ..

If you don't have a hose to sacrifice ... Lowe's, Home Depot, ACE Hardware have plastic barbed fittings matching the male hose end ... then just buy 3' or so of 1/2" or 5/8" clear tubing usually right next to the fittings at the store.
