New member in Oregon

Hello, new Montana 2015 3402 RL. Experienced at camping but new to 5th wheel. We are learning the trailer before we full time. Living in Oregon currently but working.
We love the 5th wheel but it is a monster to us. Much different from our 18 ft Rockwood. We hope to pull it about 4 to 5 times a year and live where we land for a few months. First time with levelers, first time with slides, first time with hydraulics of any type so lots of first for us. Currently we will keep the trailer as a 2nd address on the Oregon coast and use it as a place to escape. I look forward to the collaboration from this group.

Welcome to the forum! You'll find a great group of knowledgeable folks here ready and willing to help. We also had an 18' Rockwood before the Monty and loved it, but not as much as the Monty. You'll get used to the difference quickly and find the Monty a great full time rig.

Welcome to the MOC. Sit back, enjoy and join in the conversations. We used to live in La Pine just South of Bend for 7 years. Loved it there and the coast is just beautiful.

Welcome to the MOC forum. The wife and I are planning a 3 week lazy-days type run down the Oregon Coast this spring. Mom lived in Florence years ago so we have enjoyed the OR coast for many trips. Its been 15 years and its time to take one more coast trip. We live in the Tacoma area but we go to the WA coast at least 10 trips a year.
Happy trails with your new rig, you will learn to love it.

Just wondering where you are escaping to on the coast? We live in Klamath Falls and have been searching campgrounds to spend July and August every year to get out of the heat and midgees. We really haven't found the perfect spot yet.

The trailer is in the Premier RV Park in Lincoln City Oregon. We hope to practice fulfilling until we are ready to break free from our jobs. We live and work in Salem Oregon.

Thanks for the comments. We are working in Salem and using the trailer as an escape right now. We really will not be full timing until the beginning of 2017 but we are learning the trailer. Also, I know that I do not have the correct TV currently. I have a Dodge 2500 6.7 Diesel with exhaust break and air bags but I think in the next year we will upgrade. How do you inflate your tires if your parked? How do you rotate tires if your not moving it much. We will be changing from one space to another in May and then back in October. That is the extent of the Dodge pulling for now plus I pulled the trailer from the dealer to the coast location and had no problem. However, 2016 the house goes on the market and when it sells we will move into the trailer. January 2017 we pull out. That is the plan. Any suggestions would be good. We can hardly wait....

I gotta say Paul we love your state. We spent quality time along the coast, enjoyed the Ducks and actually rooted for them in football and the people were fantastic. We stayed at a nice park in Florence just below Lincoln City. We love Oregon and the many falls we hiked and say. Good luck on your new rig.

I like the Oregon Coast too. Been here 6 years now and have explored the entire Oregon Coast line. It is impressive but I decided that once you have seen the coast one place is as good as another as long as your near the water. So for now we live in Salem and put the Montana in a spot in Linclon City. We think we will keep it there for all of 2015 and maybe longer. We are using it as a retreat and a place to go to just get out of Salem.
Never been in your part of the country but we do hope to include it in our travels.
