Slide out Support

We have an HM310RE 2017. The slide out on the left side seems to tilt down (wife noticed while cooking). Just wondering if this an on going problem with this newer model.

First question: is this normal?

Second question: Do we (or should we) get supports?

We had a 2003 30 ft Cougar with a left slide out and we did have stabilizing jacks for it.

Toilet foot pedal (HM310RE)

This is a 2017 unit. After living in it since November 2017 our toilet foot pedal broke. When I examined it I realize it was improperly installed (which is why it broke). We've since hid it replaced and now a month later the foot pedal no longer returns to the closing position. We now have to lift the foot pedal up (with our foot) to close the 'gate'.

Is this going to be an on going problem OR can we replace it with a different model toilet?

I would replace your toilet with a Dometic 310 or 320. Many of us have already done that upgrade. Yours is probably a Thetford. They don't hold up well at all. There are many threads on this forum on this subject.

Slight downward tilt is normal. Keeps rain from blowing in and entering any voids in the top slide seal. For the toilet foot valve try cleaning the seal for the toilet. Stuff can get trapped in the recesses. Rubber gloves and a small stiff brush to get into all the crevices -
gas mask might help too. Then smear light coat of lubricant, i.e., Vaseline, etc., on all and into the rubber surfaces.

You should check to see if your slide is the same amount of distance out both bottom and top. If not, adjust your slide cables accordingly. http://norcoind.com/bal/downloads/ac...ice-manual.pdf
There is also nothing saying that your stove has been installed level.

Supports for your slides are not recommended.

Supports are definitely a bad idea.

Which would be best for my unit?

You will have to do some measuring to be certain but your bathroom looks similar to mine and I got the Dometic 320 w/sprayer. Check them out online or look at youtube videos. It was a pretty easy project for me. I replaced the house master bath toilet a few weeks ago and that was more of a challenge.

On the toilet you would need to measure. If no cabinets are in the way, then just pick the one you like the best.

The dometic 320 is longated where as the 310 is not. Most later model homes now have the longated toilets. If you have room then you will like the model 320 best and definately get the sprayer as it helps keep the bowl cleaner. This is about a 30 minute project unless you have to rearrange the water supply and or install a cut-off valve which i recommend then maybe a few minutes longer for that. My wife didn't understand why i wanted to change a perfectly good toilet for the 320 but now understands why.

Yes, picture the side of your RV if you have a support under a slide and a tire or two goes flat. You've just ruined the slide as well as the side of the RV.

Same here as far as the wife is concerned. She's a happy camper now.

Thanks to all. The toilet has been a sore spot for us. First it broke and had to have a repairman out to fix the improperly installed foot peddle and now it doesn't shut off hence the question about a new toilet. Such is the life of a new unit. There have been around a dozen little 'things' I've had to address, this being the worst (so far).

But home is where we park it...

Unhappy dealer prep

We pay good money for what they call dealer prep.Maybe they should take a little more time with dealer prep.
