Axle Ratings

I have a 2013 Montana model 3582RL and not able to locate the axle ratings anywhere on the axle nor in any of my manuals or online. Does anyone have an answer for me. Thanks

Most likely you have 7K axles. There should be numbers stamped into the axle that indicate the weight rating. You can ascertain the rating by looking at the placard on the driver's side by the propane locker. That placard lists the VIN number and the rating of the installed axles.among other important facts.

If your rig originally came with the Goodyear G614, then the placard on the side of the rig will indicate the axle rating as 7,000 lbs because the G614 has a 3750 lb capacity. If the tires were the Goodyear Marathons, then your axle, even though they are the same 7,000 lb axles, will be derated to 6750 lbs to compensate for the 3420 lb load capacity of those tires.

Good point Bob! I forgot that little trick they played to justify the use of China Bombs back then.

Thank you

Thanks for your response. I did find my axle ratings on the placard in the propane closet door. I had previously checked for the rating on the axle with nothing at all. I don't need to use the advice from the forum very often but when I do someone always has the answer. Thanks much!
