Low water volume in kitchen
I have removed the flow restriction devices from the shower and bathroom sink. I can't find one in the kitchen faucet and the flow from that faucet is terrible. The flow is about 3 minutes for one gallon. I have great flow everywhere else. The kitchen faucet is a pullout sprayer type. I unscrewed the aireator but it holds in the spring that works the sprayer so I can't pull that restricter out of the system. Is there another spot I should look?... Dave and Betsy

I sure hope someone has an answer for that question. I have the same problem. I have not removed any reducers, and the volume is satisfactory in all but the kitchen.

Have you disconnected and looked where the hose connects to the pullout and/or where the hose connects to the mixing fitting on the other end underneath the sink. Another thought is to just disconnect the pullout sprayer from the hose and see what kind of pressure you get out of just the hose. It might at least help to isolate where the restriction might be. Good luck.

We just returned from the shake-down cruise of our new rig. We too have low water pressure in the kitchen. Every where else is OK. I experimented with and without water filter...no difference. We have to take the rig back to the dealer for them to finish installing the generator box and will ask them about this then.

Yes... In Home Depot or Lowes.
Seriously, though. We are going to be shopping at one of those two places to replace our kitchen faucet assembly. We will make sure the restricters are out before we leave the store.

EUREKA!! I found the restriction. Remove the hose from the sprayer handle. Inside of the handle you will see a little white check valve, remove that with a small screwdriver or tweezer. Next you will see another white disk, that is the culprit. I took it out, and since it also acted as a spacer for the check valve I just drilled out the hole to its max diameter. It looks like a top hat. The hole was about 1/16" I opened it to close to a quarter inch. I reassembled in reverse order and got a big increase in flow. Dave and Betsy P.S. DO NOT try to drill out the brass fitting in the end of the hose. It is the fitting that holds the plastic hose inside metal hose!

Thanks, Dave! I looked at that check valve. I poked at it a little, but since it was spring loaded, and I wasn't in the mode of taking the time to fix a dumb move, I left it for the moment.
I will now take it out and follow your lead on this.
*On Edit~ I will still pick up a new faucet eventually, though. Ours is the ivory interim colored faucet they put in the early 2007 3400s (July 2006). It is showing it's age - water stains, etc.

Dave and Cheryl,
I just replaced the faucet in my rig and found a really great deal on e-bay from "the faucet discounters". I got a brand new Price Pfister still in the box and with a lifetime warranty for a much, much better price than I could even come close to anywhere else. Just login to e-bay and do a search for "kitchen faucet". Good luck and glad you all found your restriction problem.

Our hose gets kinked under the sink just by normal use. All we do is turn the whole faucet (where the water comes out) clockwise once around and we have good pressure again. It happens every once in a while. Can't figure out why.

Jack, did you have any problems connecting a standard household faucet to our Montana plumbing under the sink?

Thanks Dave.
Next time I visit Hanna in her stable, I'll pull the hose out and do as you did.

Dave & Cheryl,
I had no problem at all with the fittings. The Montana fittings work fine with the standard household fittings. I also replaced the bathroom faucet with a household type. The only other thing I did when I replaced them was to replace the rubber compression fittings on the connections where the rig's plumbing connects to the faucet fittings. These can be gotten at just about any RV store. I picked mine up at my local ACE hardware (they have an RV section). I always keep a couple extra in the tool box for the rig just in case.

Going to Home Depot in just a few minutes. I am not sure what the compression fittings look like, but I will ask.

Dave,
When you disconnect the supply lines from the faucet, look inside the supply line connector. Slipped over the supply line itself will be a white rubber cone shaped washer. This is the compression fitting. It can easily and carefully be removed by using a small screwdriver to pry it off. These fittings are different for the "PEX" type plastic supply lines used in our rigs and copper lines used in a stick home, thats why I think you will have to go somewhere that sells the "PEX" type fittings to get the replacements. You can take a chance that they won't leak after you put your new faucet in and not replace them, but it is a good idea to replace them to ensure you don't have any leaks. Hope this clears it up a little more for you. Good luck and let us know how the project turns out.
Jack
