Mystery alarm

I was getting loud beeping alarm when I just ran my slides in. The slides seemed to halt when the alarm sounded, and would then resume when I let off and re-applied the switch (I know about the problematic hydraulic pump circuit breaker... it's the audible alarm I'm trying to figure out.) Is there an audible alarm associated with either a hydraulic issue or perhaps low battery voltage? I only have a single 12v non-rv battery and that's all that was powering things when this occurred. Any input appreciated. Best regards, Hal

Since you don't mention what year or model your Monte is, it is a little hard to be able to answer it. As far as I know there are no alarms set up on any of the Montes but they may have added something new. I would definitely get at least a two battery system set up even if it is not heavy duty ones. The slide and level-up system will eat up a single 12 volt battery in a hurry. You didn't say whether you were out boondocking or not either which can cause a single battery to be even less dependable.

Mystery alarm

Thanks Rondo for your reply.
My Montana is a 2010 mountaneer. I'm thinking that it was a low voltage / current situation with that single battery. I just got the thing, and have yet to get proper batteries in it (I'm thinking of going with two 6 volt batteries in series). I was just running the slides in front of my house

I have a small (1000 watt??) inverter for my cpap at night. If the voltage gets too low it will beep. That is the only alarm my rig has that I know of.

Hal,

It could also be a low voltage alarm from your reefer. If you don't go to dual batteries consider staying on shore power or connected to the truck when running the slides.

Your co2 / propane leak detector will beep when the house battery voltage drops too low. You should never hear it unless the battery voltage drops.
Your battery could be low on fluid. Fill with distilled water only. Not tap water or bottled drinking water.

I have had a similar beep when operating the slides on Inverter/Battery power. I figured it was the inverter being over stressed. Usually a brief pause and everything will move forward without issues.

Slides are 12v so they do not use power from the inverter. The inverter might beep because the battery voltage to it has dropped.

I thought inverter too but in a 2010 Mountaineer with a single, non heavy duty, 12V battery the likelihood a previous owner added one is unlikely.

ON our previous SOB the co detector would beep when the battery was low, but it would seem it would so low the breaker would not recover to continue to run the slide.
