2015 Silverado

Was on Chevy's web site yesterday. Looks like the 2015 Silverado is going to be coming out early in 2014! Same drive train as near as I can see but, big changes in sheet metal and a whole new interior. Might have to check into this after the first of the year.

Watch out, if you get a fancy new truck you'll need a fancy new rig.

I know it, Dick!! It never fails! I'm either going to spend some money on the old Silverado and get her spiffied up. Paint repair, clay-barred, buffed and polished or....who knows what. Either way, sure would like to hook up a Big Sky to her.

Having a really tough time deciding. It is in great shape, has only 130,000 on her and is paid for.

As much as I like the new features on these newer trucks, can't justify with mine only having 54,000 miles for a 2007. Would like the extra carrying ability, mileage and looks, but too much money.

bigskyjimmy, that is a good point. But, the thing we (Gail and I) keep going back to is, trade it now while it is still worth something. My only other option if, I intent to pursue getting a new truck is to sell it privately. Would most likely get several thousand more but, can't decide if I want to hassle with that.

Oh well. We aren't quite ready yet, anyway. Got lots of time to think this out.

Chevy's likes yours and mine are getting hard to find and hold their value VERY well, you will have no problem selling it for a good price when the time comes, they do not depreciate as bad as cars, I used to sell cars for a living and We would lick our chops when one of these come in for a trade, If you HAVE to trade it in demand a good price because THEY will have no problem selling it at a good price and also IMO these years Silverado's look cooler than the new ones

My dealer states that they can start placing orders for the '15 Silverado 3500HD's in late February or early March 2014. There is also talk that power train and frame are being upgraded, but GM is not releasing the new specs until orders are ready for processing. I am anxiously waiting to get all the specs in Q1 - 2014.

Ouch.
Actually, I had an '04 D/A and still think about how much I loved that truck. But, I've had this one 6+ years and I'll have it 6+ years from now....GLW.

sambam, I'm almost in agreement with you. That is why we are having a hard time deciding what we need to do in the future. The interior, even though it has the cloth bucket seats and console, is still in great shape. There is hardly any wear marks or tears in it anywhere! Any reconditioning that needs to be done is on the paint. Stone chips and such under the fenders and rocker panels is all that is wrong. Touch-up and buffing would really make it look almost new.

I'm not really concerned that it would not be able to carry and pull most of the new Montanas. But, Gail is really partial to leather heated seats! And with the fuel blending now going on, she still gets very respectable mileage.

As a GM retiree, I'm not complaining. Besides, when I buy GM some of it helps fund my pension.

Dale, our 07.5 LMM is a great truck and we bought the new BS rig and will wait for "rainbow" or coffee can money to show us to the GM showroom!! I really believe the 2015 will be one of GM's better model year. It is tempting.

Dennis, I know what you mean! That is also part of what I am struggling with. The new SRW are rated at a couple thousand pounds more than what the '05 was rated at. I want to stay with the SRW due to parking lot, car washes and outside bank tellers.

Maybe I'm talking myself into something, here!
