Pin Box

Has anyone lowered their MorRyde pin box to the bottom 2 attachment points. The top 2 have beefed up angle iron. Anyone see problems doing this to get extra bed clearance?

We recently purchased a new 3582 of which we pull with a chevy and a pullrite slider. When I first hooked up, I only had about 4 and 1/2 inches of clearance. My dealer said the best and easiest fix was to lower the pin, so I had him do it. I now have about 7 inches. At this time I see no problems and feel good about it. The dealer said they do this all the time with the Mor Rydes and sliders on the newer Chevys. Be careful, it's heavy! Have a shop do it unless you have the proper equipment.

And this is why most pin boxes and hitches have several holes - for adjusting for height, ride, etc. This should not be a problem. Do make sure you find out the torque and proper hardware and use the proper tools for this work. Sometimes reusing hardware is NOT a good idea and a proper rated torque wrench ensures the proper torque.
