Man It’s Hot

Went out this morning to install some eterna bond on our kitchen slide on the outer flank that seals against the wall, also found a hole in our roof from a tree branch so if fixed that as well. I planned on doing several things today in prep for our move to Oxford Ms but man it got hot quick this morning. Had to come in for the day at 10:30 this morning as it was a feel like 98 degrees, humidity is 71%.

At least I lubed the suspension and installed the eterna bond. Maybe later in the day the humidity I can get back out and adjust the fifth head forward 2”.

Being in Kansas I've had to ration my time and schedule my jobs for about a month now. Heat index over 105 most days does seem to be the cause.

Sorry about the weather. It’s 58 on the mountain. We hit 89 once this summer. While traveling to Glacier NP (boondocking) it was 105 inside but got down to 64 inside by morning. Every time I think about moving closer to the kids (Illinois and Florida), I read about what the weather is like. Even when we get 4 feet of snow, I know it will melt and I can stay by the fire. Stay safe and hydrate.

Here in western Va. it been hot. I think we have had over 20 days in a row it’s been 90 or over. We are about 5 miles out of town and it’s usually about 5 degrees cooler. It’s been 90 on a couple times so I try to stay on of town and all that pavement.
What we are having trouble with is smoke. The smell is heavy tonight. I can’t imagine what it’s like out west. What we have is nothing compared to there. We are 3000 miles away from the fires.

We started this road trip in Key West in March and worked our way up the coast as the temperatures warmed. We have been in Bar Harbor Maine outside Acadia NP for the last three weeks. Temperatures in the mid 70s.
We really understand snow birds now LOL.
After the rally, back to Missouri and heat.

I installed this new Companion slider before we left CA, I set it so the head was over the rear axle, what that did is take weight from my front axle based on my last to the present cat scale tickets. While I didn’t have any weight issue I want to put that weight forward for a better balance distribution on my MegaCab.

We live in Mesa,AZ. We leave in the summer and call ourselves 'Sunbirds' because we leave the sun behind. Not working too well this summer! Heading to Wy and MT from NC and Billings has been over 100 many days, so may not get much of a break up there.

OK, you have the slider. I'm not as familiar with that as the fixed hitch. We have similar setups and on mine, the head can be moved fore and aft as well. On mine the only difference is making cab clearance so it is set rearward. Actually behind the axle a bit. The weight distribution doesn't really change much as the weight bears down the same regardless of hitch head placement on the non slider. With your dually you can probably set it anywhere with plenty of weight capacity to spare.
