A couple of Questions
Just wondering if the heater in your 2955rl needs a filter or would it hurt if I were to install one? Also does any one get annoyed at the hum of the inverter running most of the time? Has somebody tried to quiet it down? My wife says that I am to picking and I'm a light sleeper!

My converter doesn't hum at all. Maybe it's got a problem?

we can hear ours sometimes, especially if you don't have anything else to do. just a very slight noise.

We have a 2004 2955, our inverter makes no noise at all, as far as the furnace goes I added a cheap air filter to the intake side of the furnace, dirt is the biggest enemy any piece of hvac equipment can encounter.Very simple to do, just removed the air intake grill, built a small filter rack to fit in the cabinet and slip a filter into the rack and re-installthe grill. Also replaced all the flex duct in the basement with hard metal duct and insulated it with bubble wrap, makes a big difference with heat to the b/r area.

Our 2005 2980RL is nice and quiet. The dealer even relocated it so the cooling fan sucks out of the basement and that is nice and quiet.
The unit is mounted under the shower so if it made any noise I would hear it when trying to get to sleep.

Maybe you just need to teach it a different song! (Kidding). Ours does not make any noise that I csn tell. In our other unit (Tahoe), it did. I think sometimes it is the pitch of the hum because some people are more senstive to different pitches (mine is high).

We only occasionally hear a hum from ours but only when all other noisemakers are silent and then only sometimes. Ours is locatd by the entry door. If the hum is loud enough to be a problem you might see if your dealer will power up one or two on the lot so you can compare and have a basis to get it replaced.

Ours makes no noise except for the cooling fan that operates when there is a heavy draw like opening or closing the slides.

Hi
I have a 2955, I think you are talking about the converter and not the inverter. The converter is mounted under the Frig or in that area anyway.
You can hardly hear ours at all, and when it does run it's only for a minute or two.
As far as the filter I would follow sgf's advice.

Yep Accuprep it is the converter and I found that a lug/screw that holds the common wire is broken. I found this and couple of other problems that I will get worked on. Going to the dealer this week.
Rldriver did the dealer move to converter to the basement area, or just bring basement air to the converter?
Parrothead I can’t help with the singing lessens I do good to remember the words anymore to many birthdays maybe??

The converter in the 2005 2980RL is under the shower. To get to it you have to remove the back wall in the basement (4 screws). My dealer set it up so the fan would draw air from the basement via a 3" or 4" hole to try and keep it cooler. Now that I think about it I am not sure what way the air moves. I had some problems with the converter when it was new and he did this just as a safety measure. Sorry if I indicated it was in the basement.
The problem I had with it was I couldn't get it to work on our first outing and had nothing but problems. Don't tell anyone but I found out later that I had turned the circuit breaker off thinking it was for the washer/dryer. Boy did I have egg on my face.
