Tire pressure
Tire vendor here told my husband that our HC wheels will only handle 80lbs psi, and the G rated tires require 110 lbs psi. Is that correct?

Yes, you need 110psi wheels for G-rated tires. Did the tire vendor actually find the psi rating for the wheels or just assume they are 80psi wheels because they have less than G-rated tires on them?

Rims should be stamped on the inside as to the weight and/or pressure rating.

Our 2015 Montana High Country came with 110psi wheels. The early 2015 models came with 6 lug wheels so I don't know if they were 80psi or 110psi.

Pretty safe to say, if six lugs, they are on 6,000 lb axles and are only rated 80 psi. If you have eight lugs, probably on 7,000 lb axles, but these, you need to check the wheels to see what the load and pressure rating is.

Our 2015 343rl HC has the 6 lug wheels. They are 80psi. Apparently the wheels were changed in later models so they can handle the 110 psi. It's almost as if Keystone realized there could be a problem...

Erin, if you contact Tredit Tire you can get a good price for the 110# rated rims. They are the company that furnish the rims for Keystone and their units. They are at the Fall Rally every year and give some special prices also, but contact them and you can get a good deal if you want to put G rated tires on your HC

The early 2015 High Country units had 5200 lb axles and 6 lug wheels. The later 2015 models have 6000 lb axles and 8 lugs. I'm not sure about the 6 lug wheels being 80 psi or not.

I just finished replacing all the brake assemblies which meant pulling the wheels & drums. The wheels on our '10 are clearly marked (molded, not stamped) on the inside of a 'spoke' that they are good for 110 lbs pressure. You have to pull a wheel to see this.
