New 3230CK Legacy
Hello All,
We picked up our new 3230CK Friday.
Really love the layout and fit and finish.
It is a Legacy edition with the In-Command system and Super SolarFlex.
We've had a couple issues with the In-command system. Some may be user error. It's all new to us. But this morning, we woke up cold. outside temp in the mid 30s. The heat had shut off during the night and would not come back on.
When I turned the heat on with the I-C, the heat would come on for about 30 seconds or so and then stop, and set the I-C heat to off.
Tried to re-set the system and several other things, but nothing worked.
Finally saw on the Keystone forum an issue with the re-setable 12 v fuse for the heater. I replaced it with a standard fuse and the heater started to work again. (YEAH momma is much happier now)
We are also having an issue with the KeyTV system.
It doesn't like our satalite system.
Our dealer (Great service techs) were not able to identify the problem and ran a new, direct connect cable for the satalite.
We will be in Goshen by the end of the week and will try to get Keystone involved in finding a solution.
I will report back what they find.

Hi Ron,
Glad to hear you have taken delivery of your new unit!
Were you using "gas" as the source for heat or "electric"? I have been told that electric heat (rear roof unit heat pump) will not run if the temp outside is below 50 degF. Also if the set temperature is more than 3 deg higher than the room temp the propane heater will come on too when set to "electric" heat.
My heat pump will not heat at all, set to "electric" and it blows cold air. Will be investigating further... Keystone has been no help at all on the phone trying to troubleshoot this.
Best of Luck in your new RV!
Regards, Mike

Mike,
We had it set to electric. Our electric does work and if the temp falls 3 or 4 degrees below the set temp, the gas furnace will come on.
The heat pump will produce heat down to about 40 degrees.
Hope you find your issue. I have heard of control wires being crossed and dip switch resisters in the AC control box not connected.
Find a good tech that takes it as challenge.
Good luck.
Ron

This was our first winter in our new unit (full timers) MHC 330rl and we were running both heaters, with the same results until we hit 20 degrees...then the electric just couldn't keep up and made weird noises. We've actually been warmer using just the furnace and our electric bill was $75 cheaper. This is our first heat pump. Seems the window of effectiveness is pretty slim? Tips?

We've had the heat pump in our HC producing heat into the upper 30's...although there is definitely a diminishing return as the amount of heat goes down with the outdoor temp. The gas furnace is clearly more efficient and faster in warming up the trailer.
When I know it's going to get below 40 degrees at night I just set the gas furnace to come on as needed to keep us comfy and the DW happy.

Connie,
20 degrees is too cold for a heat pump. The noise was probably the coils freezing.
My DW would want in warmer, no mater what cost more.
So, I would suggest only using the heat pump when the temp was going to be above 40.
You will need to balance the cost between electric and propane.

On My 2021 3931fb I have a traveler sat installed with direct tv . Mine worked until this weekend and kept giving a no communication code on the screen .So I had to bypass the key tv box with a union and connect straight to tv coax from the back of key box . It works now

Mike,
Does your compressor run in cooling mode? If not, you may want to look at the OD Temp Relay board on the side of the unit. While troubleshooting issues with mine (no heat the day we got it home) I found wires were installed to wrong terminals (not done per schematic). Attached photo show the purple and orange wires reversed. It had worked at PDI but may have killed the relay (which controls all current to compressor). I replaced the relay before I realized it had been miswired (have not bench tested the "old" relay yet but coils are discolored). New relay buzzed when i wired it to match the photo so I went to the schematic and found the problem and wired it correctly All working well now.

And your propane bill did what?

For me, I'd rather pay the electric bill vs Man/Woman Handling my 40# Propane tanks that weigh 75# when full.

I'm not sure, honestly. We have a 100lb tank and usually only have them top it off a couple of times a year.

WOW, that's impressive. I have the 400 lb and have filled it four times since moving here Oct 1. Yes I am in Canada, but the warmest part, we only had snow on the ground one day this year. Seldom drops below -5C/23F and is normally closer to 0/32.
How warm? I already have vegetables growing in the garden, even tomato plants are in flower.
