Island Attachment

I have a 2018 3721Rl with the Sangsung French door refrigerator. After numerous service calls, parts, master board etc., I am ready to ditch the Samsung. Due to limited depth due to the island setting in front of the frig., has anyonyone ever moved the island over about 3” to clear the frig with slide in? I have had a hard time finding a replacement frig that will fit the hole mainly due to depth restriction since it currently come to the corner edge of the island.

I can’t figure out how the island is attached to the floor? Must be attached under the island bottom panel? Anyone with any experience on relocating the island about 3-4”? Or, recommendations for a replacement fridge that will fit in the hole and not be an issue with island?

Thks

We have a 2018 3721Rl. Our Samsung Refrigerator went out after 6 months. We went with a GE French door 18 cubic. But after reading the manual, once we have the slides out. I pull the refrigerator out about two inches to give more air flow.

I have a 3720 and I don’t think you will be able to move the island. I ran a new wire to the island for my inverter I routed the new wire where all the plumbing and electrical comes up from the floor. The hole in the floor is in the corner closest to entry door. If you where trying to move it you need to take the bottom panel out of the island.

Have you measured that Samsung junker with the doors off? I just measured the one in our house and across the door handles, including the freezer handle, it's about 6.5 to 7" you would find by removing them. The freezer door will also come off once you pull the innards out and access the 4 attaching nuts, 2 on each side. Then gut the interior to save as many pounds as possible - it's a heavy unit and will need at least two people to pull it out. Measure the RVs entry door also. That too may need to be removed for an extra inch or so.

Have you checked for counter depth units for a replacement?

Thanks, yes. My Samsung is W, 31.75; D- 26.75 (on side, excluding handles) and H, 69
From the rear wall behind frig to the front edge of the Samsung is 28.5
Considering when the slide is in, that same edge of the fridge is within a .25 of the island top cap. In order to have the required 2" clearance behind the frig, that leaves you basically with only a 26.75 fridge depth that you can deal with. The current Samsung model has now been discontinued by Samsung and replaced with another which has a depth of more than the current. I have had so much Samsung issues, I honestly don't think they are RV friendly with the movement/ride, etc. No doubt the Montana 3721RL refrig opening was built around the Samsung frig specs. Knowing manufacturers change models frequently, especially those with issues, you would think designers would allow more flexibility of future frig replacements.
