Kitchen faucet

When using the kitchen faucet, I can only turn the kitchen faucet about half way on. If I push it all the way on, or move the lever from hot to midway too fast I hear a slight thunk and the water stops running.

Through trial/error, we found if we run the bathroom sink water briefly, the kitchen will work again. This seems to be the case regardless of the water pump being on or off.

Probably the check valve on the water heater outlet.

My guess is something in the cheap ass low flow RV faucet blocking the water. Change it out to a quality residential fixture.

Start simple. Remove the aireator at the end of the faucet. Clean it. Also, while you have it turned off turn the water on and see if the same thing happens. If it does, start working backwards. Next step would be to disconnect the lines at the faucet and make sure they have good water flow. If so, then the faucet itself is clogged or bad.

I'd check that first. Personally, I hate those single handle faucets. I hate them.

It isn’t worth fixing. Get a new one at Lowe’s or HD.

I don’t know why but I thought of ‘air lock’ like vapor lock in ‘60’s cars.

We get a lot of calcium deposits in our water in Florida. I have to clean the aerator and small lines under the sinks on a regular basis. Always find some small white pebbles in them. Especially when draining the water heater.

Also - that cheap plastic RV faucet - I tried to repair ours with the 'correct' kit. Lasted a whole two weeks. Ended up at Lowe's with a brand new, 'last year's' all betal (brass?)part number American Standard for about half price. Now I have a happy wife

Newbie here but lots of boat experience, possibly debris in the line. Bath since reduces the pressure and debris moves until under higher pressure again. Just something else to check.
