RAM hitch adapter

I don't know if anyone of you use a "picture frame" adapter to mount a hitch in a RAM pickup with the factory pucks, but I have been using one for the past three years and no matter what I did to adjust it, the shifting, cracking noise was horrible. Finaly had enough and went with a B&W Companion with factory puck latches. What a difference. No more cracking and crunching. I'm what you call a happy camper.

I have used the B&W setup since day one and have no complaints. You will enjoy it.

I agree that the factory pucks for the hitch do work great!

I have the B&W 25,000 pound hitch on my new RAM 3500 long bead dually, and I can lift it into place myself once DW helps me get it up to the tail gate, and then it drops right into the pucks, and if you adjust all 4 latches to be snug and have drag on them, it is a real tight snug fit with no noise or creaks etc. Have taken it in and out about 10 times now, and it seems to stay right where I adjusted it. Nice and tight and quiet! Plus it is made in AMERICA!! :-)

When you had the cracking and crunching were you using a Reese hitch? When I had a Reese and using standard rails I called it my "snap, crackle, & crunch" hitch. HATED it. Sold it and went with B & W using the same standard rails. Total silence!

Glad to hear that your issue went away once you switched to the companion. As you can see in my signature, I have one as well that uses the pucks. I have only good things to say about it.
