Goodyear Tires 610?

The rig we are about invest in (3791RD @ 13230 weight and 2935 hitch) has Goodyear Unisteel LT-235/85/R-16 which are G rated and have a 610W stamped on them... all I am seeing listed here are G614 (without a complete number)... is the G614 an ST-tire or LT-tire?

Not looking to have any problems... I cannot find any info on this tire... looking for a bit of help from the tire guys'

ST. The LT tire you are describing on your new rig is I suspect a major improvement over the traditional cheap crap OEM tires Keystone usually provides. May be the new tire Goodyear is coming out with previously posted on this forum.

Since you are getting ready to buy, if I were in your shoes I would go with th G614. Tire has gotten great reviews on this forum.

The tires mounted are Goodyear Unisteel "LT-235/85/R-16" it is marked with a "Rated G" with the numbers "610 W" and "614 RST" on the side wall of the tire...

How are the "G614's" marked... are they an LT-235/85/R-16 or ST-235/85/R-16... how else are they marked... I am seeing all kinds of photos on the internet. However, I do not understand the "610 W". The dealer I spoke with thought it was a light truck tire by the numbers but was not sure since it was mounted on the Monty.

Can someone with "G614's" post a photo so I can see what those on a Monty really look like... I am not sure the tread design would be the same depending on manufacturing date.

THANKS for helping the new guy

Like I said above, LT marking means Light Truck. ST is trailer tire.

I apologize Mike... I guess I missed that post above... even when I went back and looked....

Therefore the question... if a tire is marked... LT235/85R16 LRG 14 PR Goodyear G614 RST Unisteel... is it for a trailer or light truck?

I would interpret this: LT235/85R16 LRG 14 PR as LT= Light Truck, LRG= Speed rating, Radial, Load range G. and 14 PR as 14 ply rating

I have G614's manufactured in 2013, put on my unit in 2013. I tried to take a picture but does not show well enough to be much help, therefore I will tell you what is marked on mine.

1) In larger letters G614RST with Unisteel beneath it.
2) Where you would expect to see the tire size it says LT235/85/R16 and Load Range G.
3) It also has 126L/123L - This is the load index (126) and speed rating (L) and represents single wheel and dual wheel ratings so that tells me 3750 single and 75mph rating and 3420 dual and 75mph rating.

There are also the DOT codes which tell where the tire was manufactured and other things.

I do not see any 610W or similar on my tires.

This tire is listed in the RV section of Goodyear website so I would assume it was designed for HD trailer and 5th wheel applications and not motorized vehicle application. Therefore IMHO it is a ST tire for all intents and purposes.

LT is DOT code for a truck tire, not a trailer tire. My primary objective regardless of LT vs ST would be E vs G load and documented tire reliability if available. Our first two montanas came OEM with LT truck tires, and have run LT tires like many others for years without issues. LT or ST, if G load you should be good.

Each and every time I have done a search for an LT235/85/R16 tire I cannot find a 16" LT "G" rated tire, with the exception of the Goodyear G614. Firestone, Michelin, Goodyear and all others that some are using on their RV's are rated "E", with much higher speed ratings than ST tires.
Therefore if you want a "G" rated tire with the exception of the G614 or other ST tires which some are using and recommending, I don't know where you are going to find them in a 16" tire, that is why some on this forum have gone to a larger rim.

I would say to the OP that the tires coming on his new rig are Goodyear G614's, they are "G" rated with a speed rating of 75mpg and have been proven over and over in applications on large horse trailers and RV's to be exceptional tires. You will be getting a tire which many on this forum including myself have replaced our OEM "E" range tires with. Don't worry - be happy
