Questions on CD stereo and also TV grips

Does anyone know if the CD stereo that comes with the Mountaineer can be removed to add an FM antenna to it? If it can be removed, how do you do it? Does anyone know why the FM and AM antennas that should be with the stereo are not there? Also do most of you use TV grips on your televisions or do you put your televisions on the floor when traveling? If you use TV grips, what do you recommend for a 13 inch and a 20 inch television? Thanks!

It is my understanding that a wire is the antenna and if you remove the unit it is connected on the back. I have read on this forum that some of these wire antenna's were still wraped with a tie.I am sure someone will jump in with more help on the subject.

We use the TV grips on the small TV in the bedroom cabinet. They have worked great. We got them from Camping World.

Our larger TV already has straps, but the packaging indicates that the same grips will work on the larger TVs.

In our previous camper, I always put the TVs on the floor. They both just sat on open counter tops.

Hello Debi and Dave,
the sterio can be removed by removing two screws that are in the bottom of the sterio. they are screwed in from inside the cabinet under the sterio on mine. then the sterio just slides out. the FM antenna is just a wire that plugs into the back of the sterio. i stretched mine out and stapled it to the walls inside the compartment, but the reception isnt any better.seams like it needs an outside antenna. probably because of the aluminum frame of the camper.
while i had mine out, i installed an A-B switch for the speakers. this allowed me to select which speakers i played though.
hope this helps some.

Ditto on Merv's post....the am antenna simply didn't work. The FM reception was fine even though I found the wire broken off when I pulled the antenna out. Will be looking for something at Radio shack.
