Help With Sewer Storage Tube
I've decided to add the sewer storage tube under the body and behind the front jacks. Since I have a 90 degree connection on the end of my sewer hose so I need a 8 inch pvc pipe.
Problem: I've only found PVC 8" in 20 ft lenghts @ $5.86 a ft.= $117.20.
End caps are $44.37 ea and for 2 = $88.74
I know you guys who have done this before me didn't spend over $200 for the set up.
I can get the green pipe for $3.87 per ft but don't want that color and that cuts the price to #103.00.
Home Depot and Lowes stops at 4 in.
What say the forum guru's in their ultimate wisdom?
I'm open for suggestions.
Hugh

I used 4" DWV. The 90 degree elbow fit in the tube O K. Had the ends that were added to the pipe so I could put a screw cap on each end. However, I did have to trim a little off the end of the sewer hose that connects to the rigs drain line. Added a second pipe and was able to put a new Rihno hose with fittings in it, again had to do a little trimming. Found that pipe in 10 foot lengths. Take your elbow with you and make sure it will fit. Hope this helps. DWV-drain-waste-vent.

Hugh, I'm certainly not a "Forum Guru" but, how about the smaller pipe and store the 90 in the rear compartment???? OR, the green pipe and a can of good spray paint, your choice of color.

If you should opt for the Sewer Solution at around $100, then you wouldn't need the pipe at all.

I have the 4" standard tube mounted just above the coach outlet pipe. My 90 elbow is EZ-Coupler version which is a short 90, fits no problem.

I found my eight inch at a place that sells and installs farm irrigation systems and they cut it to lenght--also bought the end caps--I don't remember the price but it wasn't to expensive--it is a lighter gauge pipe than what you are pricing but is heavy enough for your purpose--I use mine to haul my patio carpet under the Montie--

I don't use a 90° elbow. I use a Flush King that has a 45° elbow. If I were you, I'd store the 90° elbow in the storage compartment and use a 4" sewer pipe for storage of the sewer hose.

Since I started this thread I guess I'll jump back in here and say that I'll go the way NONECK did with the EZ-coupler and 4" pipe. I intend on using U bolts attacted to the frame of each side. 4 small holes for the U-bolts to go thru. Now I've got to see if Home Depot or Lowes carries 4" U-bolts.
Thanks for everyones advice...it was all good..as usual the forum came to the rescue.

Just get 3/8" all thread, and bend them to your pipe, that's the way I did it. You can bend them cold.
Your pricing seems really high, I bought mine at a plumbing supply wholesale place and paid much less, don't recall how much, but your pricing is probably retail.
I also bolted my brackets to the metal pan in the foreword storage.

Thanks, guys! Hope I'm not hijacking this topic, but, Ozz, do you have pics of how you attached these 3/8 in threaded rod to the belly?

When I installed our tubes, I drilled two holes in the tubes centered on the frame. Then directly below each hole I used a hole saw and cut a hole through which I could insert my drill extension (the holes also provide drainage for the tubes). I drilled a pilot hole in the frame on each side. Then using the same type of screw used to hold the underbelly up, I used fender washers on the screws and inserted them through the holes in the tubes and screwed them into the frame. They've been there since 2003 and have worked wonderfully.
I've seen others use metal straps around the tubes on each end and then used two screws on each strap. Whatever works for you will be sufficient. No one has the best idea.

I just held the all thread U-brackets up to the belly, marked the location with a marker, then drilled a hole, poked the U-bolts up, washer, lock washer, nut and Shazam, not going anywhere. I felt it was easier to drill through the metal pan, lazy Ozz... I cut the protruding bolts off flush with the nut, so it didn't get in the way of storage.
