fridge sweating

I just had my fridge replaced about a month ago and I noticed that the cooling fins seam to sweat more. Could this be caused by a bad seal on the door. Do I have to get "another" fridge replaced???

Check the climate control switch inside the door by the upper right corner. When on, the climate control reduces the sweating by evaporating it off the fins (high outside temp or humidity). This may have been "on" on your old fridge, and turned "off" on your new one, accounting for the difference.

I agree with Brad's suggestion, but I also have one of those little fans in my fridge as well. It seems to help keep the cold air moving for better coverage and may help keep the moisture from accumulating.

Just my opinion, but I think that switch is just to heat the outside of the door frame to prevent it from sweating. I wouldn't worry about the fins sweating. It just shows that they are cold (as they should be) and that there is enough humidity in the fridge to cause condensation. This is normal, and why the tray under the fins has a drain to the outside.

Could be right Ontmont - the manual is vague. It just says the metal frame between the freezer and fresh food compartment. Must be that little strip between the doors. Also says it will pull a continuous 12V when on.

Duuuuh, I was looking in the unit today and suddenly the light went on (a metaphor)and realized that when the frideg was replaced a couple of months ago the dealer forgot to put the "condensation tray" inside. I called the dealer back and they said they would mail me one. Phew

Oops! Well aside from all the other nonsense we offered as advice, the missing drip tray would be a problem too!

Not sure if I would have recognized it missing either!

When the fins sweat that means the fridge is working. It is like the sweat on a glass of ice water. The sweat is water from the air condensing on the cold fins. When it quits sweating your fridge isn't working or it is desert dry in your camper. During the cold months it is hard to keep the moisture out of the camper that is expired from the occupants, cooking, bathing etc. out of the camper so the walls and windows won't sweat.
