Rust !!
I was out today doing a little routine maintenance/inspection on the 5er before going to Pigeon Forge next month. Looking underneath the front cargo bay I noticed all the self tapping screw ends were bright and shiny except two which very rusty. These are the ones that secures the plastic battery box to the bottom of the bay. When I removed the screws and box, the whole area under the box is rusted inside and outside underneath. I got an electric drill with a wire brush attachment and buffed off the rust and old paint. Repainted with an industrial grade paint. I assume this was caused by the acid vapors from the battery. Something you may wish to check on your units.
