Generator Mystery

Traded in my 2000 Golden Falcon 28 RLG Single Slide (Fifth Wheel) 30 AMP with 13500 BTU A/C last week for a 2006 Mountaineer 329RLS Triple Slide (Fifth Wheel) 50 AMP with 15000 BTU A/C.
I was told that I would be unable to run the 15000 BTU A/C with my Honda 2000 Generator, as I had with the 13500 BTU A/C in the GF 28RLG, wanting to know for sure I turned off all the breakers except the Main, and the A/C, started the fan first then kicked on the A/C with the Honda 2000 running in "Non Economy" Mode, to my surprise it ran with no problems at all, My question is has anyone else also ran their 15K A/C with a Honda 2000?, or have I maybe been given a 13500 BTU A/C, instead of the 15000 BTU A/C that is part of the "Moving To Montana" upgrade?

My honda 2000 won't run the AC in our 3670. Using the same procedure as you did resulted in tripping the breaker on the generator. We did verify that it was the 15k unit.

Mine will run for a few minutes then shut off. The generator is overspeeding and will do this for a limited time only. Try turning the throttle to eco and see if the rpm's drop, I doubt they will.

I ran it for about 10 minutes, but didn't try kicking it down to economy mode, because I know that even with a 13500 BTU A/C the initial power needed to start the compressor will usually stall, or at leat kick the breaker out on the generator if it is in economy mode. Thanks for the reply.
