This is a little bit off topic but back before our first fifthwheel I had an old Leer slidein camper for my pickup. It was pretty nasty so Vicki would not "partake of its joys". I used it for fishing weekends with my brother. Anyhow, Vicki had a plaque made and surreptitiously planted (permanently, by the way) to the side of that slidein. She used to comment that if she got mad at me I could just go sleep in the "camper". Thus, she dubbed it "Stevie's Doghouse".

We especially like "PLAN B" as we are also approaching retirement, but haven't finalized our new residence. I'm a fan of newspaper comics and several years ago (before we new would be getting a big rig) I found a comic in the L.A. Times that addressed this. The comic strip is "BALLARD STREET" by Jerry Van Amerongen. It's a single frame that shows a small "bread box" style travel trailer up on blocks next to a small dock on a lake. There's a folding lawn chair on the dock and a couple of fishing poles leaning up against the trailer. The caption at the bottom reads: Plan "B". I have this posted over my desk at work as a reminder that if everything goes to hell in a handbasket, Shari and I will still have our wonderful Montana (almost paid off!) to live in and we can put it anywhere we want. Ain't life grand?!!!

The Montana is known as the Tajmahal, and truck, Tajamahauler. Then again at times when I can't get into remote locations it's been called the "Big POS"

we call ours the "House on Wheels'. this started when my sisters little kids saw my husbands parents trailer the first time. (they became the grandpa and grandma with the house on wheels) this has become a tradition in our family.
