Gen Prep Wiring Question

We have the generator prep wiring on our new Big Sky and was wondering if that would be a good spot to install a surge suppressor. In other words, does the shore power come forward to the gen compartment and then back to the breaker panel? If so, I was thinking I could install the Surge Guard in the front compartment and avoid a lot of unnecessary work in secondary wiring.

That is the way ours is installed, like H. Kohl's but a different brand. If you have the Iota switch in the compartment, hardwiring the installation is a breeze. As soon as I get the Autoformer installed also, I will be posting a photo album of the finished project. I used a Progressive Industries EMS system with a remote digital readout in conjunction with an Autoformer on the shore feed. I also installed an extra shore connection at the front of the rig to allow for our Kipor generator hookup to be made while the rig is under tow. (AC for the dog and cat who will be riding in the rig this summer). A wiring schematic was posted on another thread that details what I installed.

Thanks, Bingo! That's exactly what I had in mind including an additional connection for my portable generator. I'll check the archives for the schematic you posted.

Mike,
Let me know if you can't find it and I will e-mail it to you.
