broken hinge
Got a top broken screen door hinge. Looks like the whole door has to come off to put on a new one. Anyone had any experience with a broken hinge on the screen door? Any suggestions on replacement? thanks
Tom

dunno why it broke, to much "used" I guess. It broke right in the bend.

I took some pics of the hinge I was talking about and a picture of the repair. Painting is next soon as rain stops. This is a L bracket that Home Depot or Lowes carries. Found it where all the building brackets for 2x4's and frame joining. cost...49 cents and 5 pop rivets. I used the original 3 screws in the screen door frame and pop rivet it to the hinge on the main door frame. I really dont know what caused it to break but it seems to be one heck of a job to replace the orignal hinge. the door shuts good, so the repair doesnt obstruct the closing of the screen and door. I think when painted no one can tell the difference and it is a lot stronger.
