Good call, Judy.
Kent, you can remove that White cover from it's location outside the pump. You have to remove the screws holding it in place, then bend it around and out. Many of us have placed vibration isolators under the pump, (Rubber) and wire tied the lines away from any surfaces. While you are in there, wire tie the wires away from sharp edges, there are Two unused mounting ears for the furnace that are are really sharp, you can just remove them, or tape over them.
Some have wrapped the pump with Fiberglass insulation.
For a nice added touch, install a small tank with an air bladder in to it, a Tee is fine, this will both cushion the impulse action of the pump, and give a little reserve. You can get small ones from Camping World, or larger ones from Lowe's.
Good luck, and I welcome you also.
