Older style ceiling light covers
I have the lights that have 2 halves with the switch in the middle - some are just only one side. I can not figure out how to remove the covers. I have done it before years ago and don't want to break anything.
My switch won't move on the light above the stove and thought if I could take the covers off and maybe remove the whole thing I could get it working again.
HELP!!

The square end to about 2/3 toward the round end has four tabs. Push up on the lens and slide it outward about one quarter inch, then wiggle and pull the lens off.

Thanks dieselguy! I used a table knife and pressed on the lens and pried with the knife and finally got them off.
Now to find a replacement as the switch is really solid and not budging!

Similar. I called my dealer and he had one kind of like mine. It is LED and 1/2 inch bigger all the way around. Went in pretty easily. Same problem as the old one - I had to pry the lens off to install the screws and it was again a real pain. I was shocked when dealer said it was $57, as I saw the old style for $29 or so online. He knocked price down to $49 so about what this link showed so I don't feel so bad.

Tom-- If you were coming to the MOC National Fall Rally in Goshen you could drive up to Bontraggers (sp?) just across the border into Michigan and they should have all kinds of the old style ceiling fixtures. They are an RV Salvage company and you can get nearly anything you need from them-- from screws to axles and furniture.
