Here is a sample valve. They make a rod kit that simply extends the handle to any distance you need. The other pic shows how the rod and handle extends through the frame. The rod is a straight shot to the valve approx. 2'.

Drain Master Electric Valve
I recently installed the Drain Master Electric valve, and love it.
It cost more than the alternatives, but it is extremely well built, and they have great customer service.
I've only had it a couple of months, so time will tell about its durability.

I had issues with two of my cables on my 16 3100RL. One was like it was on a spring when closing and the other one was very hard to open and close. They both had a slight leak no matter how much I flushed. The galley tank was a solid rod and works perfect with no leaks. I replaced the two cable one's with Valterra electric valves and have been very happy so far. The way the cables were run from the factory were terrible and may have been half the problem. Had the electrics on a year now with no issues at all. I hope long term they hold up well.

Regardless of electric or manual pull, when replacjng make sure the valve is installed with the gate running in the horizontal plane. This will help eliminate tp and other solids from settleing into the gate seat.

I am just afraid that the valve will malfunction eventually.

I will be installing these very soon. I am getting two sets of controla, one at the convenience center, and one inside the RV. Not cheap but very handy.

Replacing Valve Not Necessary
All you have to do is use a cap full of liquid Calgon per tank. If your valve is stuck you will have to cycle several tanks through with the Calgon before it frees up. Once it does, and you maintain using the Calgon, you will not have any further troubles. My cable and valve are all original. Slick as a button.

Hubby put the electric valves in ours and we love it. Have had no issues so far. We used on both black and gray tank the Valterra system. The galley tank we had to use a different brand. Valterra did not make the smaller valve in electric.

I never leave my black dry even in storage. It’s a 2007 never had a problem. Rods for tank flushing come loose. I put blue lock tight on them. I do use valve lube once in a while.
