New to Forum
Hey everyone. New to this forum as we are looking at purchasing a Montana for our next trailer. I am nosing around and trying to decide if we should purchase a Montana or look at buying a different manufacture. So far lots of good information but nothing that would push us one way or the other.

The Montana I'm in at the moment is our third Montana. We still own another one in Kansas. 12 years of full timing in three Montana's (still owning two of them) and we have no interest in other manufacturers.

We're on our second Montana. We had the first one for ten years and intend to keep this one for a long time. We didn't even look at other brands.

Welcome. My first Montana here, but my 4th Keystone product. My trailers keep getting bigger and bigger. Would I purchase another Montana? Probably? But, planning on keeping this one till I'm dead. So, chances of purchasing another one are slim, unless for some reason this one gets destroyed.

Good/Fair question. But IMHO a little hard to answer objectively. Most Montana owners will be fairly positive about the brand...me included. My guess is that most RV owners would report positively about their purchase.
Our Monty was built pre-Covid and purchased pre-Covid. In my view the playing field was a little different then. You can find negative reviews for all of the manufacturers, including Keystone and Montana. Our decision for Montana was that in the midst of all of the negative noise out there, Montana stood out as having less noise than the others. It's long-standing reputation preceded it as the best selling 5th wheel every year for the past 20+ years. Those things gave us added confidence that the odds of buying a good unit were better than others. So far, for us, that's proven true.
With all of the Covid nonsense for the past 2 years the game has changed a bit...or a lot. There are more untrained workers on the lines and reduced work force in general at all of the OEM's. The constant reports of terrible build quality from dealerships is staggering. That's not to say that you couldn't get a well-built new unit, but the odds, IMO, are dramatically lower for all manufacturers. I would be very cautious in looking for a new or newer unit built since Covid hit.
We have no plans to change our rig but if I were to be looking to buy right now I would focus on a well-kept 2019 or older unit. YMMV.
Generally speaking, a Montana would be a good bet. Good luck in your search.

We took delivery of our third Montana in December. We did not look at any other brand. We have had wonderful service out of our previous units. We have had our new one out three times so far plus bringing it home from an out of state dealer. Have pulled it about a thousand miles so far. Few initial adjustments needed so far. I did have to build a new support for the drawer guide that supports the drawer below the range. The wood split on the original and needed to be replaced to be solid. Fit and Finish has been very good as I have now been able to go over every detail.
So far ours has been what we all hope for. Looking forward to a lot of camping this year. Best of luck finding just the right one to fit you.

Good luck on your quest. When we were out looking for a newer 5th wheel, we stumbled upon our current Montana, and so far it's been rock solid. We were looking at several different makes, such as the Grand Design Solitude, Vanleigh, Big Country ect..
