trial for window handles, fix for crooked shade

OK, the windows behind the couch and table both have knobs that open those windows. We felt the knobs were forcing the shades out of wack. (for lack of a better description, wack! )

anyway, we always had to be careful when pulling those shades up and down cause they always hit the knobs.

so, we are on trial run, we took the knobs off, stored in the cabinet above, so they are easy to find. Then when we want to open those windows we reach up, grab the knob, push it onto the mechanism, turn, open or close the window and return the knob to the cabinet.

In other words, the knobs do not have to be permanently attached with that screw to actually open or close the window.

so far we are happy with this little trick, as we usually don't open those windows that much anyway.

anyone else ever try this???
