Hydrulic leak on manifold for slides

2011, 3100 RL, three slides. We have had a problem with the manifold leaking around the by-pass knobs, just about as long as we have owned this unit. First fix was o ring replacement on center knob, by dealer, 2nd time, dealer said they fixed by tightening the knob nut, left hand side. However still have fluid running down side of RV. Has anyone had this problem? What was fix? Manifold is approx $300 from Lippert. Leak is not at hose connections or pump, but from front of manifold.

Friends of ours had the same problem on their 2012 3400. The service center replaced the manifold at the fall rally.

I'd call Keystone. Since you have the history of trying to fix it, see if they'll step up and still fix it under warranty. The worst that can happen is that they say no, then it's off to the fall Rally.

Like mentioned, try for warranty replacement. Perhaps the manifold has a small crack around one of the threaded outlet or valve ports. When using the extend/retract switch, release it as soon as the slides are all the way in or out ... you'll hear the noise change noticably. Continuing to lay on the switch does little other than let the pressure build to it's maximum relief setting.

I called Lippert about a year ago. They sent me a new manifold under warranty and no leaks since/

I did replace it myself BTW and it was not a problem. Just put the hoses on the new one same as the old location.

Thanks for the suggestions and information. Spoke with Lippert today, new manifold will be on its way tomorrow at a good reduced price from retail. I will remove and replace unit. Keeps us from hauling a hundred miles and waiting a couple of weeks.

I would tighten all fittings and nuts before installing the new manifold to prevent future episodes of leaking. Open valves 1/2 way to prevent damaging the needles and seats before tightening the packing/gland nut on those.

Just to make sure you're aware ... if the manifold comes bare and you swap the fittings ... they are straight thread o-ring fittings. The O-ring does the sealing, so examine them before reassembly and replace as necessary. There's no need for any sealant ... lube the o-ring with oil from the reservoir, tighten the fitting by hand while clocking it the correct direction, then tighten the nut on the fitting. Follow overlord's advice on the valves themselves.
