Cable slide is "jerky"

Kitchen slide has become "jerky" going in and out. Was smooth and now jerks a lot. Any ideas to smooth it out?

If hydraulic, use PTFE dry spray lube on the gears and tracks underneath

It’s a cable slide. This has happened to several other people. It could be something as simple as needing lube or something as serious as a wall stud being broke loose at the bottom of the wall.
Does the wall move in any out as the slide moves? Or does it just shudder?
A cable could be off a pulley. Are the cables still adjusted the same as they were before this happened?

I cleaned the darco under the slide today. I'm guessing it has something to do with that and not a cable adjustment or stud issue.

A clear dry lube with PTFE on the bottom will usually fix this. I use CRC industrial** which works as well as the BALsuggested ZEP and at about 1/3rd the cost. You should also look at cable tension. The kitchen slide, while usually about the shortest slide, also carries a lot of weight.

I sprayed it this morning with WD40 Dry Lube with PTFE and its getting better. Seems a little smoother each time I run it out.

Thanks

Pull the bottom seal back and get the slide bar as well. I'm no longer a fan of WD-40 products. Most just aren't what they were 30-40 years ago, thanks to the EPA

Same thing happened to me. I took a bar of soap and rubbed it all over the bottom of the slide. First time it jerked twice and then perfectly smooth after that. Lasts a year or two and then do it again. Takes a couple minutes.

Agreed! I use a bar of soap on many things that slide together... door latches, etc. Works great and no mess or residue. 👍🏻🙂

I'll have to try soap on mine, or I'm gonna put some strips of UHMW or similar. If you spray WD40 dry lube you have to use about 1/2 of the can or more.

Dealer suggested Zep 45 on the bottom - in addition, I lubed ALL slide seals - problem gone
