Drawer latches

2007 3400RL. We always use Velcro straps on the "double door" cabinets when traveling, and have had no issues with the "single door" cabinets coming open. However, we have noticed that we are now having some drawers come open during traveling. I did a search and back in 2004 some MOC'ers recommended a dowel through the multiple drawers, or adding more of the OEM latches. I am amenable to either suggestion but I am wondering if anyone has found a "better mousetrap" regarding the drawer latches? We plan on keeping this rig for a while as it has been lightly used and we have done a lot of upgrades. TIA.

If you swap out the OEM latches for some Heavy Duty Magnetic Latches it might solve your problem. We had some of the plastic latches on some of ours and if they didn't get closed right the female section would half close so if you tried closing it harder you just broke the latch. Got tired of replacing them and went to magnets with nothing to break.

Another vote for magnets. The plastic latches don't hold well after a while and even when new are flimsy at best. Make sure you get fairly powerful magnets though. Not all are equal.
