Antennas
Most RVs have stowable TV antennas as standard equipment.
Our 5th wheel came with indoor AM/FM antenna and doesn't work well.
How about options for EXTERNAL antennas for AM/FM radio, cell phone and CB's?
Wilson antennas at http://www.wilsonelectronics.com/ has good selection.

Fred, I haven't checked ours but many people here have reported the builtin antenna was never really deployed. Instead, it's still sitting there with a rubber band around it behind the radio. You might check that out on yours before going with an external antenna.

I also had very poor reception on our radio.
I took it out and found both FM and AM antenas rolled up and tied up.
I then removed the FM antena, installed it beyond the TV and ran the wire back down to the radio unit. Did the same with the AM antena. The reception was then 10 times better. Have a look and move the antenas as high as possible and you will see a big improvement.

Wendell, more details? Do you connect the splitter behind the TV? How do you run the wiring to the radio or is yours near the TV? Ours is the opposing slide so I'd have to route across the rig.

Steve,
I would think the splitter would install right at the TV jack. IE have a cable from the jack to the splitter, then one cable to the TV, and one to the Radio. This would be very simple if both your TV and radio were right next to each other. I believe almost all the Montana models are set up like this.
Just a guess here, but it seems to make sense.
It sounds like a good I idwea too, might have to look into this myself.

Our 3670 came from the factory with a splitter that feeds the tv antenna to the surround sound system. It's placed behind the surround sound.

Thanks, Ed. Unfortunately, the TV is in the kitchen slide and the radio is in the living room slide, opposite side of the coach. We rarely use the radio anyhow so it's not really a big deal for us.

Wendell if the TV is not hooked up to the antenna does it matter. I'm assuming you are talking about the antenna on top of the coach. Our is in the front and only the bedroom TV hooks to it I think. The LR TV hooks to cable or satellite.

Ed, my unit is a 1999 and both TV's are wired to the anttenna on top through the booster switch in the bedroom. Cable connection ties in there as well.

Parrothead,
Both TVs should work off roof antenna. Just make sure the antenna power amp is switched on. It's usually in the BR TV cabinet.

I may have missed this point, but your FM feeds off the TV antenna via the splitter in the back of the cabinet. I know that not all models have the radio in the same cabinet as the TV, but on those with the home stereo system, this seems to be the hook up. The AM antenna normally just needs to be unrolled in the cabiniet. You can help by feeding in down through any hole in the cabinet to help extend it as much as possible. When I did this, it pickes up very well, but FM is super.
