Bossier City/Shreveport, LA area
We are just under 2 hours from this area and go over from time to time and go to the Casinos and Boardwalk. There is only one listing in our Trailer Life Directory and it is right on the interstate. We really like parks that are not to close to high traffic areas, quieter, etc.. I did a Google search and didn't come up with much there either. Does anyone have a recommendation for a nice RV park close to this area?

There is a new park on 71 south of Bossier. It is at Red River South Marina. http://www.redriversouthmarina.com/ We haven't visited there yet, but I called and I think they have like 20 sites. Seems they quoted me $20 a day. Only other one I know of is 3 or 4 miles north of Bossier. It is at Cash Point Landing, another marina. Last I checked, it was still full of folks displaced by Katrina. To be rather frank, I wouldn't stay there. Hope this helps.

Yes, they are right on the freeway, but at least you have some choices and you might want to check them out:
Miss Ellie's RV Park in Waskom, Texas. A new park, looks nice from the freeway.
Kelly's RV Park, just down the road a piece at Greenwood, LA. Always looks pretty full from the freeway so a lot of people must like it.
Camper's RV Center is in the Western edge of Shreveport and is either a Montana dealer or right next door to one. The entrance is not directly on I-20 but the park 'backs up to the freeway.'
And, finally, the Shreveport/Bossier KOA which is further off the freeway than any of the ones above. I have never seen it (for that reason) and it is probably a bit more expensive.
I have never stayed in any of these--after all I'm only an hour away from Shreveport, and am not necessarily recommending any of them, but just pointing out that there are several possibilities.

I don't know how you feel about state parks and I have never been to any in LA, however, I found this website and this is close to the location you are seeking: http://www.crt.state.la.us/parks/ibistino.aspx
I am looking because we are looking to travel to around Baton Rouge at Thanksgiving. If you go, let us know about your experience.
Thanks,
L

Lake Bistino is way out of the way. It is about 25 miles from boisser/shrevport area in a little town called Doyline.
