First 5ver

Hello, this is Dennis and Susie from Maumelle, AR. We sold our 2018 GD Imagine 2600 RB and 2018 GMC 4WD Sierra pickup and replaced them with a 2020 Ram 2500 Limited 4WD diesel and a 2020 Montana High Country 331rL. We have been out in it once for 6 nights and really appreciate the difference. We added disc brakes to all 4 wheels, new 14 ply Sailun tires, backup camera and a Splendide washer and dryer. We should be ready to hit the road anytime. We are looking to go South in February since it is usually our worst month at home, probably Texas or Florida. In the Summertime we will have 4 small grandchildren to spend time with camping, hopefully no more than two at a time! We know very little about traveling in a camper but are excited to learn. We hope to see you somewhere down the road.

Holy cow. You guys went all out on the new setups.......truck, trailer, brakes and the works. Congratulations on it all. Show us a photo of your new setup. The disc brake set up is something I would like to do too.

Welcome and congrats on the new rig. I have the 331RL as well. It's been good to us so far. Also added the same tires and washer/dryer at purchase. They have been good as well.

Welcome to the forum. We are right up the road from you at Bee Branch, AR.!

I just retired and returned to our country estate on Cadron Creek. We were full time for about 2 years down in Carlsbad, NM. Soooooo glad to be back here in God's country!

Hope your rig gives you years of great service.

Where did you get the brake work done?
Where did you get the tires?

I just bought the Montana, it had been used 6 nights. The previous owner bought it at Great Escapes RV outside of Mountain Home. I'm thinking they did the disc brakes and new tires along with the washer and dryer. His wife decided they needed a larger trailer so they ordered a big Jayco. He had also just bought a new Ram 2500 diesel to tow the Montana but now he is selling it also and buying a 3500. It has been an expensive mistake for him. But money must not be a problem.

Hi, we also have a 331rL (2019) and love it because of how big the interior rooms are, more than enough Kitchen space too. The large bathroom with 2 sinks was what tipped US over into buying it.

Watch out for that command center door located at the steps going UP into the hallway towards bath and bedroom. I had to tie a large Red Bow on the handle. If anyone leaves that door open---it will really hurt if you walk into it.

Enjoy your new Rig .

Lots of great people here to help if you find yourself in need of answers.

^^^^^x2 WooHoo that door is like a pile driver in your skull....and I flat can't remember to shut it when I put out the awning then tighten the nut. Thought I got rid of the soft spot in my skull when I growed up but got another one now.....and I'm very hard headed. Take care with that door.

I took the door off and it is under the bed. There are lots of examples of auto closers and various methods of warning, but I chose the easiest way.

Enjoy your new units. Thinking about going to Maumelle this summer for two weeks. Can’t decide Spring or Fall. Looking at maumelle Park right on the river, any suggestions?

Maumelle park is one of the nicest parks around. You will love it. Plenty of room with level shaded sites, some right on the water. We use it often even though it is just across the river from our home. You will not be disappointed!

Welcome to the forum. That's a nice setup.
If you're planning to go south in February, good luck finding a place in Florida. I live in NE Florida and usually camp in GA or SC. All the snow birds come south and our parks are full all winter long. You have to plan and reserve a year or more in advance to get into most of them in the winter. Can't speak to TX as we seldom go that far west.
