Slides don't work

My Montana 5th wheel is a 2021. It has been in storage for one month and the temperatures have dropped to the 20's. when I tried to put the slides in they would not work. It is hooked to electrical power but I had turned off the battery so it would not charge all winter. What could have suddenly happened to cause the slides to not work?

The converter, your only 12V power source when the battery is disconnected, does not have enough oomph to run the hydraulic pump. You need a fully charged battery, especially in cold weather.

There is no need to disconnect your battery if you have shore power. The benefits of leaving it on outweigh the need to periodically check water levels.

What Carl said.
Also run your furnace and put a hair dryer blowing on your hydraulic reservoir for 30 minutes will be a big help.
We were staying in St. Louis last January. Very cold. When we were setting up we had issues with the hydraulic circuit breaker (new 80A circuit breaker too!!) resetting every few seconds when moving the slides or landing gear.
Before we left we ran the furnace to put heat into the underbelly (hydraulic hoses) AND I put DW hair dryer blowing on the hydraulic reservoir for 30 minutes before we broke camp.
Everything ran smoothly.

Thanks for this little gem of information. It worked after turning the battery back on.

Check to make sure your batter switch is in the on position. If that doesn't work, check and make sure your breakers are on.
